Chapter 8

Monday morning and everyone was seated at their seats waiting for the teacher. Everyone were talking about how their weekend went, as students talked about the amusement park, mall, or anything going on in their lives.

The five girls wasn't in group this morning as they behaved their selves waiting for their teacher. They talked to their seatmates and did their own personal matters. Valerie was talking with Charlie, Maya was doodling while secretly eating chips, Katelyn was advance studying, Cassie was playing thumb war with Korra and Akira chatted with Jake.

"What did you think of our last assignment, Akira?" Jake ask as he proceeded to another topic.
"I have to be honest, it wasn't that hard nor easy" Akira just shrugged at the shorter boy. "You could say that, your smart" Jake said as he rolled his eyes. "No im not, plus the answers of the assignment was just at the book" Akira said as she showed her proof. "Wait, I think I got my answer wrong for number 6" Jake said as he fetched his book.
"How is your answer letter A?" Akira said as she chuckled. "I- uhm..shut up" Jake said as he chuckled and erased his answer.

The two then talked for 3 minutes until the teacher arrived. "Okay class settle down and pass your assignment, Enzo can you be a dear and get their books, please?" The teacher asked as she put her bag at her desk. "Of course, Ms. Applefild" Enzo said as he stood up and grabbed everyone's assignments.
He stopped at Akira's side as he waited for her to give him her assignments. "Here you go, Enzo" Akira said as she handed her and Jake's assignment to him. As she lended the books to him their hands accidentally touched. A small blush crept on Akira's face as Enzo wasn't bothered at their hands touching. "Thanks" Enzo smiled as he continued getting the assignments the teacher had requested. Akira looked at him and looked back at her hand. She sighed dreamily. "Wait? Did I just sighed...dreamily!?" Akira thought as she blushed even more. "You okay, Akira?" Jake asked as Akira looked at him, her face suddenly red. "Uh..yeah..im okay.." Akira said as she gave him a nervous smile. "Are you blushing!?" Jake asked in a yelled whisper. "What!? No! Im just uhm feeling hot today.." Akira said as she started to panic. Jake gave her a suspicious look until he just shrugged it off. Well that's what she thought. The class had begun and the teacher gave the students something to work on.
"Ms. Applefild, you are requested at the accounting room" a student said as she came inside the room. The teacher nodded and stood up from her chair. "Okay class, im going to the accounting room for a minute, please behave" Ms. Applefild said as she went out of the classroom.
5 minutes have passed and Akira finally finished her essay. "Finally all done!" She said as she stretched out her arms. She turned to look at Jake and asked, "are you finished, Jake?". "Almost....and DONE!" Jake said as he dropped his pen to the desk. Akira nodded and proceeded to grab herself a notebook and doodle. "Hey Akira?" Jake whispered into her ear. "Hmm?" She looked at Jake seeing him raise his eyebrows up and down. "What are you doing?" Akira asked confused. "Do you like..Enzo?" Jake asked in a whisper. Akira blushed beet red as she stuttered, "W-what??". Jake gave her a sly grin, "I knew it" he said. "W-what are you talking about..?" Akira said refusing to look at her friend. "No denying now, I now know and I promise I won't tell anyone!" Jake said as he crossed his heart and lend out his pinky.
Akira gave him a suspicious look until she lend our her own pinky as they did the pinky swear. "If you tell anyone, I'll tell Marie you have a crush on her" Akira said as she threatened him. The black haired boy blushed at the mention of him having a crush on their classmate. "Ofc, you have my word and you better have yours" Jake said as he stared at Akira seriously. "Trust me, I have my word. Akira said as Jake nodded and went back to his business leaving a blushing and confused half japanese teen.

Did I just agree at liking Enzo!? I mean I do like him, as a FRIEND! But I like him since his my fake crush. But its only an act? Why did I stutter when he asked? Probably from embarrassment!
I am such a good actor...or am I?
Don't give me feelings brain! This is your heart talking dumbass! Oh- wait who's talking now? You! What?? Oh gosh my brain has rotten from liking Enzo- as a friend. But his my fake crush...AHHHHH!

Akira was then cut off of her trance as Jake called out her name. "Huh?" "The bell just rang, aren't you gonna stand up?" He asked. "Oh right!" She picked up her things and dashed out of the room with everyone. Jake had caught up to her to suddenly ask another question. "So uhm.. since when did you start liking Enzy boy?" He asked teasing her. She had a small blush on her face as she shook her head. "Just about a week ago..I think.." she said. He just smirked as he kept on teasing her about her "crush" on the so called boy. As pay back for teasing her, Akira teased him back of course, but he was to good. She don't even know why she gets so affected by it. "Is this what Katelyn feels when Mason or the girls teased her about Zachary? Because damn its kinda annoying". Akira thought as she groaned. This had been going on for 2 classes since she share the same class with Jake and almost everytime he seats next to her he'd tease her. When the teacher is in he's behave, he makes jokes from time to time but when the teacher is out, full time teasing.
It wasn't the funny "get you to admit and blush" type of teasing well it was from the start but now it was getting annoying for the poor girl.

"Enzo and Akira sitting in a tree-" Jake sang in a sing song voice but he was cut off by an annoyed Akira. "Stop! Just stop!" Akira begged. "Woah, jeez sorry I didn't know it would tick you off that easy" he sheepishly grinned. "You have been teasing me for the 2 classes! And its getting annoyed and tiring" she said frustrated. "I don't even like Enzo!" She said in a crying voice. "What?" She suddenly realized what she spilled out. "I-uhm" she stuttered, she wanted him to believe she like Enzo but she was tired of the teasing and it was only one person imagine two or more, she then gave up and spill all her tea. "Jake..i have to tell you something" Akira said as she then grew nervous. "Promise me! Promise me you won't tell anyone especially Val, Cassie, Katelyn and Maya!" She said in a serious and scolding tone. "Alright alright, I won't." He said as he waved both his hands at her. She looked around the hallway to find no one. She sighed as she gave in. "I don't really have a crush on Enzo.." she said. Jake widened his eyes. "Surprise?" She awkwardly grinned. "Liar" Jake said as he crossed his arms. "What!? Im not lying! I don't have a crush on him! I just told you I like him because im pretending to like him!!" She said explaining all she can to the boy. "Why in the world would you pretend to like Enzo? Im not as smart as you but im not dumb" he said as he looked at her sternly. "Im not lying" she said as she sighed once again and explain in every detail. It took her about 15 minutes for him to believe her. "Was I really that good at acting?" Akira thought.

"Ok so I understand now but why in the freaking world would you even do that!? Just to get the girls attention? I think the girls give you more attention than they do to our other classmates" Jake said as he sighed in disbelief. Akira just gave him a sheepish smile, "Well everyone in the entire class has a crush even you, so why don't I?" She said not looking at her friend. He sighed in disbelief once again. "You promise not to tell right?" She asked. "Yeah, I promise I won't tell a soul but next time don't be such an idiot to do this" Jake sighed for the hundred time tonight. The two friends then walked together towards the cafeteria until Jake spoke again.
"I was kinda glad when you said you like Enzo.." Jake said making Akira blush. "Huh!?" Jake laughed at his friends reaction. "I mean, its nice to see you finally liking someone. I've known you since we were preschoolers and seeing you liking someone made me kinda happy." He said as he chuckled. "Happy? You sure? Maybe your just happy so you could tease me as pay back for teasing you about Marie" Akira said as she rolled her eyes playfully. "Im not kidding.." he smiled at his friend. She smiled back. "Im still gonna tease you though, but not that much" he said "what why!?" Akira asked.
"Because it would make it believable, duh, and its fun" he said as he gave her a sly smirk. She just blushed as she hit Jake. "Oww!" He pouted as she stick her tongue out.

Akira doesn't have that much of a problem that Jake knows she's just faking her crush. She's been friends with him ever since preschool. They are good friends as they trust each other. Akira was thankful yet nervous but having someone who knows her crush on Enzo was just her pretending, it made a weight of her shoulder a bit light. Now, she hates lying to her friends but what can she do? She can't be the only girl who doesn't have a crush like the others. It was embarrassing for her.

There was no going back for her
