Dear Al,
We agreed to send each other letters every three weeks, so, even though this is a real pain, I'm writing to you. Why do I have to write a letter the first week, though?
I hope you're doing well in Xing. That brat princess Mei better not be calling me a human microbe human again. And is Greed or that stupid idiot the emperor yet?
Anyways, the West is really different from what I'm used to. I'm at a town called Hiven. I wasted the last week reading the only books on alchemy they had in the public library, but I knew all the stuff already.
Then I met these two weird guys called Frederick and Philemon today at the library. They're studying alchemy, too, and they discovered this red stone that had the ability to change into different objects (generally blood-stained weapons) every half hour. I didn't get a chance to look at it much, and they don't know what it is, but I'm going back tomorrow. I suspect it may be a philosopher's stone, but I'll have to confirm it.
I'll send you another letter in a week about my progress in the research.
Sincerely,
Ed.
P.S. I may have sort of proposed to Winry talking with equivalent exchange. I want to die.
