The room was quiet and tense. The finals were today. They had already done the physical asessment, now they had to do the paper one. Jackson stood behind the podium while Aizawa passed out papers to the students. They had to stay in the room and be quiet for 2 hours.
30 minutes in, Jackson had gotten bored and was playing with flower arrangements. Aizawa was asleep. He eyed Shai every once in a while to make sure he wasn't cheating by listening to the other students answers.
1 hour in. Jackson stopped playing with his quirk and was resting his head in his arms on the podium. One or two students had already finished their tests.
30 minutes until it was over. More students, about half the class, was finished. Jackson found himself wishing this 30 minutes could last forever. In half an hour, the students would go on summer break. The students would move up a grade and get taught by another teacher, he would teach new students.
Just like that, the class was over. The bell rang and the teachers got the clear to collect the papers. Jackson and Aizawa collected. The class, however, remained seated. Jackson took Aizawas papers and put them in a stack. He leaned against the door frame. "You guys can go now. Have a good summer."
The door was opened and students trickled out. Mina hugged him and almost cried. Iida shook his hand. Midoria had a short conversation with him about how excited he was to work with All Might. The students left until one remained.
"Shai?"
He looked up.
"Sorry. I almost fell asleep."
"That's okay. It's summer now. Go have fun."
"You're like... the best teacher I think I've had. I wanna be like you. Have a good summer, Mr. Alastor."
Jackson nodded and waved as he stepped out the door. "I didn't know summer break was this hard." He said to Mr. Aizawa. "You're still young. Get out there. Do something. Stop wasting away in this classroom."
He nodded and smiled. "Bye for now, Mr. Aizawa."
"Goodbye Alastor."
