The Dance
Graceful wings lift me up
Enabling me to fly as the music moves me
My heart is full enough to burst
The feelings indescribable
My body so lithe glides across the floor
Smooth movements mirroring the music
Tapping and turning
The raw feeling I release through my fingertips and toes
My body is possessed by the spirit of the song
I know not where it takes me
Or of this emotion so strong
Only that I belong here
And here I shall stay.
No one can stop me
I am an indestructible force
With pointed toes and long arms
I leap across the floor in a rush of movement
As the music changes so do I
The river of song floats me along
To the unknown I belong
No one knows when I shall stop
Or if I ever shall
My mind is gone
Replaced by the song
Every part of me flows like water
Pirouetting along
With a leap and a kick
I shall stay
Here in this haunted place
Where I belong
Where I shall stay.
Beware to those who dare try to break this trance
For my heart and soul shall break as well.
An empty shell will be all that remains
For with this song I am alive
For with this dance I am living.
