The Academy of Riding Dragons and Magic

Chapter 1

??? POV

"Moon are you coming? You told me you wanted to show me something today."

I watch her come out of the kitchen with a rucksack in hand, she looks at me with a sheepish expression on her face.

"Sorry, I had to grab a couple more things."

"What else did you need to grab?" I ask, "You haven't told me anything about what you wanted to show me. SO are you going to explain what more you had to grab?"

She shakes her head softly indicating that she would not speak about it now. I watch her place the rucksack into her backpack before she swings the bag onto her back and heads towards the door.

I sigh, turning and follow after her, I grab my own backpack with the items Moon said to pack in it. I am so curious now why she would need to grab more items, let alone from the kitchen. If we are out for more than one day we tend to hunt for our food and not bring it from our house.

We walk across the town square and through the bustle of people doing their everyday tasks. Moon leads me to the town garden and starts to walk the twisty path of the gardens. The gardens are filled with colors and shapes, all of these plants are used in remedies that the village uses and is a common relaxing place. However we just keep walking through the village garden towards the back wall.

We live in a small two story house, that is near the middle of the village. We live in a medium sized village that is a very stereotypical village.There are only a couple of houses in our village that are two stories. Even then they are often reserved for when high ranked officials stay in the village because they are the closest sentiments to the village square. A lot of the villagers despise the two of us because we go against almost all of their stereotypes.

The only reason we live so close to the village square is because the house we live in was extremely run down and many people said that it would be unfixable. So if we wanted to live in the house we would have to fix it up ourselves.

We finished fixing up the house a couple years ago. Our older sister, Zoey, helped us out immensely because the two of us were only five when we arrived in the village and Zoey was only seven. She did a lot of the moerting of the building while the two of us went and got accustomed to the village.

Zoey was selected at the Choosing Ceremony two years ago. We were really proud of her but also only them realized how much of an anchor she had been for us. She was selected as a dragon rider as well as a triple wielder. She can wield Air, Water, and Earth. Meaning the only things that she can not do is wield Fire which is said to be the hardest element to wield.

Zoey just finished her second year at the academy and is going into her third. A lot of students return home during breaks but instead of coming back to the village for summer this year she is spending time with Rose who is also a third year student. The tw said they had plans to go all over the word in the two months they had off.

We aren't all that concerned mainly because we can't do anything to stop them but also because the two of them have the ability to do almost anything they want. The Magii Community is heavily male orientated. Rose was the first female dragon rider and the tenth female in the Magii community, Zoey was the second female dragon rider and eleventh female in the Magii community purple because Trinity Stone VIllage, where Rose is from, had their ceremony before the people from Mirstone village.

The names that we use in the Village are not our birth names. We respect our birth names but other than being hard to pronounce and the fact that they hold a lot of negative memories we all decided that we should use different names for the village.  Zoey's birth name is Zora, Moon's birth name is Xyla, and my birth name is Xena.
