Pete parked his RV in a RV park after driving for three hours. As he parked it, he selfishly knocked the other RVs out of the way so he could make room for the hot tub, the swimming pool, the basketball court and the bowling alley on the roof among the other things his RV contained.
Pete felt hungry after all the driving he did, so he went into the kitchen to get his food. As he entered, he could smell something cooking and it smelt very good.
"Hiya, Petey," Goofy said, as he was cooking on the hobs. "You hungry? Dinner's nearly ready."
"Yeah, thanks, Goof, oh, pal," Pete said. Then he sat down on the table and then he hummed happily as he waited for his food. Then he realized at what was happening and he looked at Goofy again and then he screamed his head off.
"GOOF!!! What the heck are you doing here in my RV?!"
"Well, I'm so sorry about what happened to your son, Goof," Pete said.
After they had their dinner of sausages, bacon, eggs, French fries and mushrooms cooked by Goofy – even Pete had to admit it was delicious – they went to relax in the RV's hot tub. Since they got in, Goofy had been telling Pete the whole story about today, starting with how he heard about the Spoonerville Water Park getting attacked and Max going missing from it this morning to Goofy accidentally stowing away into Pete's RV.
"And I'm so sorry for stowin' away on the RV," Goofy said. "And I don't have any money so I can't get back to Spoonerville."
"And you can't even pay for the damage that you've done to my RV," Pete muttered.
"And I don't know where to look for Max," Goofy went on.
"Well, if he was still in Spoonerville, you would have found him before you stowed away in my RV," Pete said. "Look, Goof, I'd really love to help you find him, but I've –"
"That's it!" Goofy cried happily. "Pete, I always knew you were brilliant, but this is the best idea you've ever had in your life!"
"Thanks, Goof," Pete said. "It's about time someone noticed my brilliance. Apart from my son, that is. Uh, what was my best idea I've ever had?"
"Why, you letting me come with you in your RV, of course," Goofy said.
"Oh, that one. Yeah, well, I suppose it is my very best - WHAT?! NO! That's not what I meant at all!"
"Oh, come on, Petey," Goofy said. "Don't be so modest. Wherever you drive, I'll look for Max if he's out there and I'll cook and clean for you."
Pete was getting very worried. "No! No! I mean, that is very nice of you, but I –"
"Oh, good!" Goofy cried happily. "Then it's settled. Oh, boy, this is going to be so much fun. Just you and me." He scooted over and hugged his neighbour, who could only whimper about his nicely planned vacation now being terribly ruined by his neighbour.
"Say, Petey, what happened to Rosie?" Goofy asked.
Pete sighed and told Goofy that his latest girlfriend Rosie left him only yesterday. That was why he wanted a peaceful RV trip to help him forget all about it.
Rosie Bushie was the third out of Pete's girlfriends since his wife Peg divorced him nine years ago and left him. Part of the divorce agreements was that Pete had custody of their son PJ while Peg could take their daughter Pistol with her to Florida. Since the divorce, Pete never talked about Peg or Pistol to anyone and never saw them again; he didn't even see, hear or was in the slight bit interest of how his daughter was doing in high school in Florida. He barely spoke about PJ or was hardly more interested in what he did, even though his son was a popular and successful Michelin star rising chef and he was in a lovely relationship with a lovely beret lady called Lucy and had two lovely children. Pete visited them sometimes, but never at the same time when Peg would visit them, who visited them more often than he did. It was just that he couldn't even stand to be in the same room with Peg, let alone speak or look at her. In his mind, the divorce was entirely her fault all because she lost interest and respect for him as time went on during their marriage.
Since his divorce from Peg, Pete started to date other ladies. According to Goofy's memory, the first lady was called Fiona, whom Pete met at the baby photography studio he and Goofy once worked at. They dated for three months and no more. Then the second lady was called Yolanda, whom Pete met sometime after PJ left for college with his friends Max and Bobby. They dated for nearly a year, but she broke up with him when she had a job offer in Canada. And then finally came Rosie Bushie, whom Pete met in Spoonerville Park, and she was the successful girlfriend he had since his divorce from Peg and had been together for four years. Goofy thought his friend was very happy with his latest girlfriend; well, they looked happy every time he and Max saw them. So, Pete telling him that Rosie left him was a complete shock. When she packed her stuff, she told him that he was stick of living with him and his rules and his lifestyle. She felt that he was trapping her in the house and keeping there for all eternality. The last thing Pete remembered Rosie telling him before she left him for good was that it was no wonder that his ex-wife Peg left him when she did.
"Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that, Petey," Goofy said. "Hey, I know what will cheer you up: your favourite dessert! Two scoops of garlic flavoured ice cream and one cup of black coffee with no milk or sugar." Then he got out of the hot tub and started to hum as he headed back into the RV.
"No, Goof!" cried Pete. "My favourite ice cream flavour is vanilla, strawberry and chocolate covered in a mountain of sweeties! And I want my coffee with lots of milk and sugar!"
But even if Goofy did get the order wrong, he didn't care because he was so upset about losing Rosie.
As Goofy went to get the stuff to make the coffee and get the ice cream ready, he slipped on the wet patches that were dripping from his blue swim shorts and onto the floor, which caused him to crash into the cupboard. That made the food shoot out of the cupboards and storm out of the RV and Goofy with it.
"Are you all right? Do you need a hand?"
Goofy was helped up by this nice lady, anyway. "Thanks, Miss." Then he looked at her and gasped. It was a female dog with short blonde hair. It reminded Goofy of Sasha, one of Max's college girlfriends. She looked the very same and was still wearing the same blue bra, black shorts and sandals with white straps she usually wore at Spoonerville College. "Sasha?"
"Hi, Mr. Goof," Sasha said. "Has Max been found yet?"
"No," Goofy said. "I take it you haven't seen him neither?"
Sasha sighed and sadly shook her head. "I'm afraid not, Mr. Goof. I have tried calling him and texting him, but he's not responding. I've not seen any activity from him on social media either."
Goofy wasn't an expert of a lot of things and social media was one of them, but he was glad that Sasha was still friends with Max, even if it's just on social media, since she had to move college very early for reasons he had forgotten.
"But I'll be looking out and listening for him," Sasha said.
"Thanks, Sasha," Goofy said. "Say, what have you been doin' since you moved college?"
"I've been working at this RV park since I graduated from my other college," Sasha said. "I'm an assistant to my dad, who owns the RV park. I've had some boyfriends since I moved college, but none of them were half as great as Max and I really do miss him." She finished picking up the food and gave it to Goofy.
"Thanks for your help, Sasha," Goofy said.
"No problem, Mr. Goof," she said. "And it was nice to catch up with you. And let me know when Max gets found." Then she walked away.
"GOOF!" Pete yelled. "WHERE'S MY ICE CREAM AND COFFEE?"
That made Goofy drop all the food, pick it up all and worry about where Max was and hoped he would be okay all over again.
