We pull up to the party and there's nowhere at all for us to park. Pope decides to park down the street in front of someone else's house. Luckily for us it looks like no one is home so we should be fine. We get out his truck and I look in the side mirror to check my hair. Pope puts his arm around me, and we make our way to the house. When he opens the door, the smell of weed immediately invades my nostrils. It's not the most pleasant smell so I find myself scrunching my nose. I pull out my phone from my back pocket and text Sarah to let her know that I just got here. She tells me to come to the kitchen, so I nudge Pope and grab his hand leading us to the kitchen. We make our way through all the cramped, dancing, sweaty bodies. I breathe a sigh of relief when I see the kitchen in sight. I let go of Pope's hand and walk up to the counter seeing Sarah mixing a drink. "What's in the drink Sarah?"

She keeps stirring her concoction as she answers me. "My special concoction. If you don't have a severe hangover tomorrow, I didn't do my job."

"I don't want her getting black out drunk Sarah." I hear Pope say from behind me.

"You're more than welcome to help yourself to a cup or two. It'll help you loosen up a bit." She looks at him with a smile.

"No thanks, I like being fully in control." He puts his arm around me.

"Just as I expected." She fills two cups with her special drink and hands one to me. "Drink up, bitch."

"Cheers to an amazing night?" I look between her and Pope as I say this.

"To an amazing night." Sarah confirms as we bump cups and take a drink. Well, Sarah downed hers while I take tentative sips. It's unpleasant going down but the more I drink the more I get used to the feeling. I'm halfway through my drink when I see Sarah pouring her a third cup.

"Slow down Sarah, it's not a race." I eye her with concern.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me."

I bring my mouth to Pope's ear and whisper, "Will you keep an eye on her tonight. Please?" I lock eyes with him and try to convey my seriousness with just a look.

"Fine, yeah. You got it."

I kiss his cheek. "Thank you." I finish off my drink and have Sarah pour me another. I down it this time. "Let's dance!" I drag Pope to the crowd of dancing bodies. A song I don't know the name of is playing but that doesn't stop me from losing myself in the music. I feel a little buzzed and let my body take over. I'm not even worried about Pope anymore, I'm too focused on the feeling. I don't want to lose this moment. After we've danced to a few songs, I grab Pope's arm and lead him back to the kitchen. I go to pour myself another cup and don't see Sarah anymore. I'm about to pour myself another cup when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look over and see JJ. "JJ! Hi!" I throw my arms around his neck. "I'm so happy to see you!"

He stills for a second. "Are you drunk?"

"Fuck no, man! I feel the best I've ever felt in my entire life." I pull away and squeeze his cheeks with my hands. "You're so cute JJ. You look even better when you smile you know that?"

"Okay Kie, I think that's enough." Pope puts his hands on my shoulders and pulls me away from the blonde.

"Noooooo Pope. I want more drinks! More drinks, right JJ?" I turn and look at him with a smile.

He smirks at me before replying, "He might be right Kiara. You don't want to overdo it."

I turn to Pope. "Just one more drink, pleaseeeeee? Just one more and I'm done."
