JJ called me the next day on his lunch break just like he promised. We somehow managed to talk about everything and nothing all at once. I may have laughed a lot as well, he's a character that guy. It's just so easy with him. I don't have to censor my words or worry about him passing judgement. We haven't even been talking for that long, but it feels like we've been friends for ages. I'm comfortable with him already. I'm sitting on the couch watching New Girl when I decide to call Pope.

"Hello?" he answers.

"Pope.."

"What's up?"

"Please tell me you're not still mad at me. I hate fighting with you."

"I just feel like you aren't being completely honest about what's going on with you and JJ."

"Pope, I promise you nothing is going on. We're just friends."

"I want to believe you, but I just have this nagging feeling that's not true. If you like him just tell me. Don't feel the need to hide it."

"I don't like him I swear. We barely know each other."

"Alright."

"You want to come over and have a movie night? I'll let you choose what we watch the entire night with no complaints."

"You'll actually sit through 3 or more movies of my choosing and not complain?" he asks in disbelief.

"Yes, but only because I miss you. Don't get used to it."

"Am I staying the night too or I come home when we're finished?"

"It's up to you. I don't mind if you choose to stay."

"Okay, give me an hour."

"Alright. See you soon best friend."

He laughs. "Bye Kie."

I smile and hang up the phone. I get changed into some shorts and a tank top then head downstairs to raid the cabinets for some snacks. I pull out some chips, Oreos, and decide to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies. I wash my hands and get to work. Once the cookies are in the oven, I go in the living room and set up Netflix. No sooner have I taken the cookies out of the oven, I hear the front door open and see Pope walking in. "You're just in time. The cookies just got done." He sets his bag down on the couch and then walks up to the kitchen counter.

"Look at you trying to suck up to me. You made my favorite cookies." He comes over and gives me a hug that I eagerly return. I hold on for a second longer and then pull away to kiss his cheek.

"Let's please promise not to fight anymore. I don't like when we go to sleep angry at each other." He looks over at me.

"I promise not to go to sleep upset with you anymore."

I smile and he returns it. "So, what movies do you have in store for us?"

"I was thinking we could watch Friday, Love Don't Cost a Thing, and Poetic Justice."

"I don't know if any of those are on Netflix, but we can find a way to watch them if not."

He just grabs a couple cookies and heads to the couch without responding. I grab a plate to sit the cookies on and carry the rest of the snacks to the living room. I sit down on the couch next to Pope and lay my down with my head on his lap. I look up at him, "Okay, I'm ready now." He decides to play Friday first.
