TWO.❝WHERE'S YOUR GOONS
TODAY, BOWERS?❞I JUMPED ONTO MY green-ish blue bike and started to pedal away. My mom said that she wanted me home before the town curfew due to the missing person reports from these last few weeks.
When I was cycling down the streets, I decided to stop to get something in the shop down the road. My stomach craved a bag of chips. Two one dollar notes were stuffed in my pant pockets. It's a good idea to keep one or two notes on you in case of emergencies like this.
I slowed down and hopped off my bike, parking it on the side of the small building. The bell above the door rang noisily as I entered. Looking for the chips isle, I strolled down it and surveyed all the options. After making a tough choice between Lays or Pringles, I picked up one and headed to the cashier.
Immediately when I finished checking out, I started to stuff my face with the chips. The bell rang yet again from me leaving the shop.
I turned to get my bike and walked alongside it instead of riding it. My attention was directed to something else when the snack was snatched out of my hand. Standing over me with my food was Henry Bowers. "Where's your goons today, Bowers?" I asked in a bored tone referring to the three other bullies. The older boy just ignored my remark, trying to think of something insulting to reply back with.
Right now is not the time for his dumb antics. "What do you want? Give them back, Henry," I demanded and tried to grab it out of his hand but he didn't budge. In fact he only held them higher above the ground. "Can't you go cook something instead of buying chips? Get back to the kitchen, whore," he snickered back.
"Go fuck yourself."
"You little bitch," he growled. The chips don't matter to me anymore. I got up on my bike and rode away from the bully. I guess I'll just go home then.
My bike's wheels turned and I peered behind me to see an annoyed Henry scarfing down my chips. God, it's like he hasn't eaten in days. Also, what a waste of money can't he buy his own food?
I ARRIVE AT MY HOME and pedalled into the driveway. My bike was thrown to the ground with a small thud before I opened the garage door, picked it back up and placed it in the corner of the garage.
The spare key I owned turned the locks in my front door and I ran inside. My mom should be home soon so I'll just lie in my room for a while.
For the while that I was waiting for my mother to get home, I did a lot of things including: listened to music, cleaned my room, fixed my bed. You know, just stuff to pass the time.
"Y/n! I'm home." A shout came from outside my door and down the hall. I sprung up from my bed and opened my door, walking down the hallway into the kitchen.
"Hey, Mom. How was work?" I asked while I offered to hang up her bag and coat. "It was busy today. I'm exhausted, did you get something to eat? We'll have to have ramen today. Sorry, honey, I'm just really tired."
She rummaged through the cabinets and pulled out two cups of instant ramen. "Well no. I didn't and it's alright Mom." Water filled up the hot pot and it heated till it was boiled. My mother poured some scalding water into each cup and let it sit, placing a fork into both cups as well.
It was placed in front of me at the small dining table and sat there till it cooked the ramen. "You need to start making meals for yourself incase I have later shifts at work," she started, "I don't want you to be waiting on me to eat, sweetie." A warm kiss was softly placed on the side of my left temple. Then she sat down across from me and we both dug into our ramen.
I picked up both cups and trashed them when we finished. My eyes were staring at the floor on my way back to my room when I saw a large-ish black spider scamper across the floor. Eight long legs stretched and pulled it's weight so fast to the wall. I shrieked at the disgusting thing and my mom came rushing in.
"What is it?! Are you alright, my dear?" Panic was laced in her voice but her tone softened when she seen the spider. Killing it and throwing it out, she returned to the couch where she was sleeping.
She knew I had a tremendous fear of the vile creatures. Their beady eyes sent shivers down my spine and the fact they had eight legs just freaked me out. They are so disgusting. I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.
I opened the door to my room and the lavender scent filled my nostrils. Lavender was a scent that spiders didn't like, or so I've heard, and that's why I littered my room with the scent in an attempt to keep the arachnid creature away.
Flopping on my bed, I didn't care to change into more comfortable clothes. Sleep started to take over and my eye lids fell closed.
