Chapter 26

"I never go soft"

Me and enzo made our way down towards the kitchen finding Lexi making some popcorn and a few drinks whilst the boys waiting in the living room.

"How come they aren't helping"? I ask walking over to help as enzo walks into the living room. "Because the news is on something about the guy from before", she says placing a bowl beneath the machine.

"What?" I say questioning her as she shrugs her shoulders. I turn around walking towards the living room door as I could hear the tv being turned up.

Standing in the doorway all boys stay with their backs to me towards the screen including Enzo. "Breaking news", the headline said as a picture projected onto the screen.

"Famous cartel leader Giovanni Angelo has made his first appearance after 3 months in hiding due to the death of one of his assistants Vincenzo Gianni was found brutally murdered, tortured and left in a nearby forest."

"Detective may says this is one of the worst cases they have ever covered within the past 7 years of training". "The body was found with an excessive amount of blood loss as-well as over 60 broken bones and over 5 amputations."

"We have here on the other end detective may with some further information". "So tell us more about the discovery".

"Yes so the body was found in a nearby forest around the station clearly by someone who wanted the body to be found." "The body had sustained vital injuries to the brain aswell as having no fingers". "Cuts and bruises were all over the body with the use of some strong heavy metal equipment that had clearly been used on purpose as to why this is a more  brutal murder than the rest".

"The body hadn't been there for long around 3-4 hours max suggesting the murderer could still be in the area so I'd suggest for everyone to stay safe and stay indoors if possible for the next couple of days until further notice".

"This murder may be gang related but we cannot take any risks at this moment of time." "There's not much more to say other than whoever done this definitely meant business".

"Thank you officer now back at the studio next up we have"- looking over at me I spot Enzo in the corner of my eye not knowing I was here he looked surprised before standing up walking towards me.

"Amore", he says as I turn away walking out towards the hall. "Aria", he says turning me to face him. "How much did you hear". "As much as possible", i say back looking up at him.

"Did you do it", i say quietly as he looks down at me. "Yes, he deserved it anyone who touches anything that's mine will get the same no one will ever get away with doing that", he says back loosing the grip around my arm.

"He's going to come for you for what you done", i say. "He won't stand a chance", he says back as I cut him off. "You heard what they said famous cartel leader he's only now come out from the dark because you killed one of his men", i say back.

"What else was I meant to do, let him free after what he done to you". "He came for one thing me, and he couldn't get that so he came for you instead". "I promise no one will hurt you again".

"How do you know this won't happen again". "How do you know that no one else is going to get in and do what you done to that guy to me". "How do you know that no one's going to come here and kill me".

"You don't, exactly just like you didn't know about Vincenzo." "I could've been dead by the time you came back".

"And you weren't aria, no one is stepping foot in this house again, more safety measures and other unnecessary routes into the house are going to be stopped and blocked stopping anyone not welcome in", he says back.
