Chapter 24

Bloody business

I woke up to enzos arms being wrapped around my waist. I look over and see he's still sleeping as I slowly lift his arm up and over my body to his.

Slowly standing I walk over to the bathroom closing the door behind me trying not to wake him. I turn on the shower before walking beneath letting the warm water run over me.

A few minutes later two arms wrap around my waist pulling me closer. "Without me"? Enzo groans still half asleep. "I didn't want to wake you", i say kissing his cheek as he smiles.

"I have business today and a couple meetings near the casino so I'll be away until tonight". "Isla is out for most of the day with her family but she will be back around 4".

"I'll have men dotted about on all entrances and exits so you have the house to yourself", he says kissing down my neck before I turn the shower off.

Enzo had left shortly after as his journey would have taken time before his meeting so I decided to get dress. I walked into the closet before picking out my outfit for the day. Long black skinny jeans with a white over the shoulder jumper along with some sterling earrings and bangles.

My hair was tied up and to the side in a loose fishtail platt with silver hair cuffs on every other loop. I wore light makeup before finishing off with some lip gloss making my way down for breakfast.

Walking down I could see two men stood on the outside of the door with their backs turned facing outwards but I took no notice as they're only doing there job.

I walked into the kitchen before deciding what to eat bringing out the food and cutlery. After breakfast I decided to wash up before resting on the sofa for a while.

I hear a door opening from the back so I walked over to check it out like enzo said no one should be inside.

Walking over to the back entrance I see a dark haired man around 6,2 looking straight over at me with his piercing blue eyes.

"Did you need something"? I ask walking over as he steps forwards. "Orders from boss, he wants some documents transferring for his next meeting", was all he said before walking past.

"Your going the wrong way his office is upstairs", i say as he turns back around before nodding. Weird, i thought to myself surely they should know where his office is.

15 minutes later and he hadn't come back down so I decided to message enzo asking if everything was alright.

Hey enzo if you needed those documents you could have just asked me instead of one of your guys since I know where your office is.

I sent the text before walking upstairs to see how long he's going to take. Walking up I spot the first couple doors open along with his office door shut slightly with a gap.

I walk up towards the gap peeking through to see no one sat at his desk and the computer switched on lighting up the back side of the room.

I decided to knock before walking straight in making my way over to his desk. "Hello"? I ask looking around one the far side of the room.

No answer.

I got a notification back from enzo and opened it straight away.

I haven't asked for any documents lee, I told everyone to stay outside today no matter what.

I read through the message with my heart beating out of my chest as I hear a floorboard creek behind me. Before I could turn someone grabbed me by my hand pulling me down with my arms pinned beside my head either side.
