Sarah awoke with a jolt. She must have been dreaming...had she? Looking around for something familiar, she saw Noble slouched in the corner of the car. Looking out of the large door, she saw a mass of dark clouds. It had been one of the few nights it hadn't stormed there in weeks. Months even. It was mid July, and the earth was starting to settle. The clouds rolled in fast, only leaving dots of deep blue in the sky. The countryside quieted, as sarah fell back asleep. Listening to the rising winds in her dreams. All of a sudden, a loud, ghastly screech rang out in the frozen night. The sound, of metal scraping against metal penetrated the still night, causing Sarah and Nobel to jump awake, there faces written with fear, surprise, and excitement. The screech continued ringing out loud enough, so when Nobel shouted something at her, she couldnt hear any, of what he was saying. The car began to shake and jolt, and it rocked on its tracks, leaning against the wall if the car for balance, she stood up, feeling harsh winds pelt her, with warm, moist air. The car began to tilt, and pieces of metal began flying around the opening to the car. Thunder roared out, the train was shaking them, making Sarah's legs shake, and she became unsteady, looking over at nobel as the screeching died down, he pointed at the floor of the car, and she sat down, feeling the cars weight shift to the other side, and sarah began to slide towards the opening, on the now slick  metal, the color of rust. Feeling nobel grab her arm, she looked back at him, he was holding in to a rail, in the corner. He pulled her in, but just as she reached him, he stood up, and the weight in the car shifted yet again, so Sarah began sliding backwards in her attempts to stand. She stood, and watched as Nobel crouched by the opening, and peered out into the rainy, dark night. Loud whistles could be heard through the night, and sarah pressed herself against the car wall. Nobel yell at her, ' the train is nearly off the tracks, we have to jump!' Sarah looked at him, and thought, this guy nearly kills me, makes me jump on a train, then nearly kills me again, then, expects me to jump out of a train?

' are you, insane!?' Sarah yelled, the whistles growing louder.

' Well I brought you, so I must be!' He yelled back, and motioned for her to come. Sarah walked towards him, but then the car began to tip severely, and the entire car was tipped on its side, the screech now was everywhere, all around her. She squeezed her eyes shut. The car was still slowing creeping along, but stopped when Sarah opened her eyes. The opening was now on the roof of the car, and suddenly she began to voices. Her ears ringing from the train's scream, was unsure if the voices were real. The rain, now coming in from the roof , was pooled at her feet, and she saw Nobel , lying in it. Unsure if he was alright, she bent down, and grabbed his arm. He stirred and raised his head. He sat up, and scrambled to his feet.

' The car tipped.' sarah said, hopelessly.

' you say the most obvious things sometimes.' Nobel said. Sarah sighed. Would he ever be serious? The water was now up to her shins, and she thought they might drown. More voices could be heard, but they were interrupted by a loud crackle of thunder. Silhouetted against the flash of lightning, were three people. Nobel began shouting, ' we are in here!' A few moments, and a few shouts later a rope was hung down, and the water was already up to her knees. Without hesitation, she climbed the rope, and emerged on the top, and was ushered down a later that led to soft ground. She was soaked, and  and brought to an abulance near the train tracks she looked back, and saw the train , it's gone belly up, she thought darkly. Watching Nobel climb down the latter, and he approached the ambulance, also. A young lady, brought him into the back, and he sat, on a stretcher. Looking around, she saw that there were several cop cars, lights flashing in the darkness. There were more people, and some, body bags. She shivered at the thought that she could  of been in one of those, if she wasnt as careful. Someone grabbed her arm, and she turned seeing the young lady, and she followed her. Sitting down, she looked at the lady. Her name was Cassandra, and she had two dogs, and was sad, because her father had been on this train, and he was still a missing person. How did she know? Her powers? She scoffed at the thought. Her? Having powers? If she really had powers, she would have known what the tain was going to do.

She did what the lady td her to do, and she had no cuts, scrapes, or any kind of injury. She saw Nobel a few feet away. Catching up to him, she grabbed his arm.

' where are you going?' Sarah asked, wondering why he was leaving.

' if we hang around those cops will make us for back home.' Nobel said. Sarah was astonished.

' you're still going?' She asked.

' of course, I'm still going. Aren't you?' Nobel asked. Sarah was torn. She didn't want to be almost killed again, but she wanted to find out what that "being" was ment for. She was about to answer, when she heard a groan from behind them. Turning, she saw the dark creature, it's one eye a deep purple. Screaming, she pushed Nobel forward, and they took of running, into the darkness. Had it followed us? Why was it here? Many questions went through her mind. They ran, but as soon as they were hidden in the trees, Sarah looked back. She couldn't see the train anymore. She couldn't see anything familiar anymore. Looking to Nobel for reassurance, but his face was also confused, and lost. After awhile of standing still, Nobel said they needed to find shelter, and when it was light, they'd find the railroad, and ride it to Stanford. Now she didn't have a choice, she had to come.

They walked silently through the forest, and the rain. Finding a large rock, Nobel sat, and so did Sarah. They sat theme until morning, in the shelter of the rock. Neither of them daring to sleep. For the creature was following them, they knew that for sure. And Sarah thought, it might take more than a few days, but we'll get there, in one piece.....or two.
