expanding my horizons

Once we calmed Xiumin down the lady apologized and said she should come back another day when his mother was here and I agreed.

Once the women was now gone, I look back at Xiumin and ask "Xiumin, are you alright?" But whenever I tried talking to him, he wouldn't reply. He was just sitting on the floor with his knees brought up to his chest, looking into space, ignoring me.

About two hours passed and Xiumin wouldn't leave from that spot. He wouldn't talk to me, he wouldn't even look at me, all he did was look off into space. Xiumin's mom came back and once she did I explained to her everything that had happened. "I'm sorry...I totally forgot that she was coming today, you should go home." She says in a smile, thanking me for taking care of Xiumin.

I nod my head and as she follows me to the door, before I left the house I look back at Xiumin's mother, remembering the 'journal' from earlier and ask "I know this is a little personal...but could you tell me why Xiumin- I mean Minseok is like this...you know, why he won't leave this house?" I ask her concerned.

   Once I had asked that, Xiumin's mothers facial expression changed into a shocked, yet upset expression as she says "I-I don't think it would be right for me to tell you about that...I don't think Minseok would like you to know about that either." His mother says, but not looking at me in the eyes, it was like she was talking more to the ground rather than me.

I nod agreeing and turn around as I left the house without saying another word...what happened in Xiumin's past that was so bad?! I want to know!

 The next day came and I had to go to school again...ugh. Once I walked in, the first person to talk to me was one of the prettiest girls in the grade, she asked me if I wanted to go to karaoke with her and a couple of her friends after school today. 

I thought for a moment, my one and only goal when I came to Korea, was to make as many friends as possible, but I've been only hanging around Xiumin up until now, so I guess I should start expanding my horizons...and...I'm starting to have these weird feelings towards Xiumin that I can't really explain...maybe it's love...but I don't want to like a boy! For some reason though I can't get him out of my head...so I guess this could be like a little breather away from Xiumin.

I agree, smiling at the girl and she gave me her phone number on a piece of paper as she says "okay, I'll call you later."

W-Wait...why'd she give me her number if she just asked me to go to karaoke with her...maybe to call me after school is done to see where I am so we can all go together? I shrug at the action of her giving me her phone number and stuff the piece of paper into my pocket.

After school was done the first place I went was to the front of the school, waiting at the gate for the girl, and once the girl came, a mixture of boys and girls were walking behind her. "Are they also coming?" I ask her, looking at the students behind her. 

She nods in a smile asking "yeah, is that okay?" 

"It's fine" I say in a smile...the more people the better actually, it could make my goal go along a lot faster.

Sorry it's a short chapter, I've been meaning to update, I swear but it's hard managing two stories at once. Anyway, next chapter or the chapter after you might find our about Xiumin's past.
