The next day was when Xiumin and I decided to go and visit his mother in the hospital. "You ready?" I ask Xiumin, looking back at him.
Xiumin had a smile on his face as nods and says "I'm ready."
As I open the front door we both walk out and as I lock it I could feel Xiumin holding onto the back of my shirt.
"Don't worry Xiumin, I called a taxi, it'll be here any minute" I say in a smile, rubbing his head.
As the taxi pulled up into the driveway Xiumin looked over at me concerned and I then say "it's nothing to be worried about." As I say that I hold his hand and walk over to the taxi.
"Where would you like to go?" The taxi driver asks.
I tell him where we need to go and with that he nods and started to drive.
I could tell Xiumin was really scared the whole way there because he couldn't stop shaking, he was holding onto my hand so tightly it almost started to hurt at one point.
As we got to the hospital I pay the man and thank him for driving us as we get out of the car and leave.
Xiumin and I walked into the hospital with Xiumin holding my hand very tightly.
As we got in front of Xiumin's mothers hospital room Xiumin then asks "she's really in here?"
I look at him and then at the door as I nod and say a little "yes."
Xiumin took a deep breath out as he grabbed the doorknob and turned it, opening the door.
Even though Xiumin had opened the door, it was like he was too scared to enter the room because he wouldn't even set one foot inside.
"Xiumin, are you coming in?" I ask, going into the room before he does.
Xiumin looked at me and then down at the floor as he slightly nods and say "mhm." He then takes one step inside the room but stumbles back a bit, losing his balance.
I quickly hold Xiumin's arm as I ask "are you alright Xiumin?"
"I'm fine" Xiumin says, reassuring me that he's alright and stands up straight.
Xiumin then walked into the room more until he saw his mother lying in the hospital bed with tubes connected to her, and the life support by her side. Xiumin took one look at her and broke into tears.
Even though he's been here before it kind of confused me that he didn't remember all of this happening, Xiumin had tears rushing down his face non-stop, they just kept coming.
"M-Mom...I'm sorry for being such a burden to you...I know father left us but you were the only one who took care of me when I needed it...and now I want to repay you for all of the times you've been nice to me..." Xiumin says, wiping tears away from his face and grabs a tissue from the side desk and blew his nose.
I rubbed Xiumin's back in circular motions, trying to calm him down as I say "it's alright Xiumin, your mom is going to wake up and it'll be fine." I say in a smile, now wrapping my arm around him so we were both standing together closely.
We spent hours at the hospital with Xiumin just talking to his mother about regrets he had, and secretes he's kept from her, things he's always wanted to tell her but couldn't, he told her many things that I didn't even know which shocked me a bit as well.
Some of those secretes were like how it would look like he would be taking his medicine but in reality he wasn't. He confessed that he wasn't popular in elementary and when he said he was out with his 'frineds' he was actually hanging out at a nearby park alone. He then said something that made me and would have made his mother very shocked.
He confessed that the old gym teacher that raped him back then did that multiple times to him, but the time the camera catch them, he said the day they got caught was when he wanted to fight back and say he didn't like it, but since the man was much older than he was and stronger he pushed him into the equipment room to get things over with and did it to him there.
I started feeling bad for Xiumin. I came to Korea wanting millions of friends, to be loved by everyone, but I learned that even when Xiumin did go to school, he didn't have any friends at all.
His childhood was ruined by some perverted old man and he couldn't do anything about it...just thinking about it made me want to punch the old man that did this to Xiumin in the face. I hated it, I hated seeing Xiumin in pain, and since he's been so hung up by the past for all these years, it makes me even madder.
We stayed there for hours until something then sounded off. We were in the middle of talking to her when the thing that beeps continuously for your heart rate, soon went into a long line and a long "beeeeeep" came from it.
Xiumin and I looked at each other confused and shocked as I run out of the room and call for the nurse to come in, the nurse came rushing into the room telling both of us to get out and I had to drag Xiumin out by his hand.
After that nurse came in, more nurses then came, rushing into the room and taking Xiumin's mother out, quickly bringing her into a room to do surgery.
Xiumin had tears rushing down his face, wanting to chase after them for his mother but I had to hold him back the whole time as I say "Xiumin, it's alright, your mother's going to be alright!"
Xiumin turned his body around, I was hugging him tightly as he had his head on my shoulder, crying into it. "Why me" Xiumin kept saying, over and over again.
I started to cry as well, rubbing his back whispering to him over and over again "it'll be alright Xiumin." As I say that we go downstairs to the hospitals cafeteria to grab something to eat.
"Come on Xiumin, you have to at least have something to eat" I say, moving the soup he ordered near him but he just looked down at it.
"Please Xiumin, you're going to feel better once you eat something" I say in a smile, ensuring him that he should eat something but he just kept looking down.
I sigh laying back in my own chair, eating the sandwich I ordered and saying "it's alright Xiumin."
"You're always saying that but it's not..." Xiumin says, with a tear falling from his eyes.
"I know you're going through a lot right now, but I will tell you this right now...I will always be here to support you, I will always be here by your side...no matter how much you're in pain, no matter how scared you are...if you call my name...I'll come to you....I'll always be...by your side" I say, reaching for Xiumin's hand which was on the table and grabbed it, looking at him seriously.
Xiumin looked down at my hand and then up at me as he says "t-thank you Luhan."
I then say "should we go back up and see the results about your mother?"
"I-It's better to just get it over with..." Xiumin says in a sigh, getting up with me following behind him.
We took the elevator up and walked in front of the room where they were giving Xiumin's mother surgery.
