Medic's eyes fluttered open, his hand automatically felt his face with no hesitation before dropping back down. After a solid moment of just laying down realisation hit him, and soon the man was sitting up in the bed. In HIS bed.
"Hov did I... Get back here? Did I die?" He questioned, standing up and dusting off his clothes. He saw his glasses on the floor, huh... They must've dropped down from the table. As he went to pick them up he remembered last night's events- right, Heavy found him... He probably fell asleep on him and got carried home. "Vell... Zhat is embarrassing."
After going to the closet and switching up his clothes Medic walked to the door, taking a deep breath. He was still going to be himself, but the fact he didn't find Archimedes or the others bothered him... Well, no matter, he opened the door slowly and stepped out-
"WHERE IN THE BALD EAGLE'S ASS HAVE YOU BEEN?! YOU HAVE EXPLAINING TO DO, BOY!"
"Ye finally decided to show up, huh?! We been dying for almost two weeks because of yer absence!"
"Yeah, you just left like no man's business! Not cool, you know!"
"Mmmph, mmph phmmm mhmhp mmmmphphphhhh!"
"All those dispensers, man... I'm still exhausted."
Well that sure was a very effective way to completely wake up. However after the first wave of surprise Medic just sighed, shaking his head with slight frustration.
"Look, look, look... I'll explain vhat happened, just... Let me go get mein morning dosage of caffeine vhile I do it."
...
After some more premium scolding everyone was back on the field, and though people were tired things were visibly smoother with Medic back. He himself, however, still didn't feel quite right.
Healing everyone up, Übercharging, the thrill of seeing blood splatter everywhere... It was very therapeutic, but in no way even remotely close to what peace of mind Archimedes brought him.
...
"Finally! Winning feels so good now!" Demo raised his hands up high, confidently smiling when everyone arrived back to their base house. "Mmh-hmph!" Pyro hopped along, and before going back to his own business Engineer walked to Medic and gave him a pat on the back. "Good to have you back, doc." He showed a thumbs up, clearly relieved. "It's good to be back, zhe battlefield never gets old."
After everyone went back to their own thing Medic made his way to his workroom, opening the door and stepping in with a sigh.
"All zhat time..." He muttered, but his distress switched up to hope quickly as he heard the familiar coo's of doves. Right there, on his medical table, all of the doves stood, Archimedes on top of it all.
"Archimedes- Archimedes, oh mein Gott!" Medic rushed to the table, opening his arms wide as the birds immediately all flew on his arms, shoulders, wherever they could fit. A genuinely joyful laugh came from the doctor as he felt the head of Archimedes rub against his cheek. "Oh, you all, vather has been so vorried!" He said, noticing a box laying on the table.
"Vhat? Vhat have you brought here- such a big package as vell!" He moved his hands to the box, opening it and being met with a sight of beauty. A new collection of tools, of very professional and durable looking tools!
"You... You brought this? For vater? Oh, mein little thieves, vather loves you all so much! Sit tight, I'll tell you all about zhe veird time I had vhile you vere out!"
