NANCY
"Alright, let's try this again." The agent in front of Nancy straightens a pair of files, dark eyes narrowed on the teen. "Where is Eleven?""How many times do I have to repeat myself?" Nancy grounds out, jaw clenched tight enough that her teeth feel close to cracking. Her hands clench where they're handcuffed to the table, knee bouncing beneath it. "We don't know. We haven't seen her in days."
"After she got arrested we didn't hear from her." Jonathan adds in his usually quiet voice, slouched in the chair next to Nancy. He's surprisingly good at lying, but Nancy wasn't worried about him going into this. No, she's more worried about Steve wherever he is- the guy can't keep a secret to save his life.
"We know you picked her up, our people saw you." The agent's voice is a sharp, bladed thing as his eyes dart between the two teens. Nancy can feel a sweat breaking out on her forehead, wishing she could reach over and hold Jonathan's hand for a little comfort.
"We. Haven't. Seen her." Nancy snaps each word, eyes narrowed and gaze hot enough to kill as she mentally pictures herself slamming the agents head into the table.
"Now let us go." Jonathan says, voice too gentle to be anything close to threatening. Nancy finds it somewhat cute.
"No." the agent leans back in his chair, a grin on his face as he does. "I want you to tell me where the the kid is, then we can talk about you getting a phone call." Nancy groans aloud, feeling like the conversation is just going in circles. She slumps in the chair, shoulder rubbing against the other teen's.
"We just said we don't know where Eleven is." Jonathan spits.
"Not her, the other one." The agent opens the folder in his hand, glancing over it before looking up with a tight smile. "William Byers, your brother." He slaps the file down on the table, turning it to face the teens before pushing it within arms reach of the two. Nancy's eyes immediately scan it, catching on the profile description near the bottom.
Has a unique connection to Dimension B, seems to be connected to subjects Beta and Omega.
"How did you get this information?" Jonathan rasps, eyes darting from the file to the agent and then to Nancy who's still trying to dissect the note. Subjects... meaning the monsters? How does Will have anything to do with this?"
"We have plenty of files from Brenner, including ones on your brother." The agent smiles, as if he's finally got something over their heads. Nancy glares, imagining steam coming out of her ears.
"Will has nothing to do with this. Nothing." She snaps, feeling surprisingly protective of the kid. After all the things he's been through, she can't imagine how he could possibly be involved yet again. Jonathan shifts beside her, a worried look on his face.
"But he does have a connection to this... alternate dimension- yes?"
"No! Not anymore, we got rid of it." jonathan shouts, tugging against his restraints for the first time since they were attached. Nancy frowns as she looks over at him, hating to see him hurting.
"But he did?" The agent grins smugly, hands folding on top of the table while Jonathan yanks on his handcuffs before slumping back in his seat. Nancy sits up shoulders tensing as she prepares to tear the agent apart.
The door opens just as she inhales to speak, a bound Steve shoved inside unceremoniously by a soldier. His face is bruised, unsurprisingly, and Nancy imagines that he probably started snarking as soon as they shut the door. "Let's go." The soldier jerks his head at the agent, who sighs with an eye roll as he stands up.
Casting one last glance at the teens he sneers. "This isn't over." Nancy let's herself pull a mike, sticking her tongue out in retaliation as the two exit the room. As soon as they're gone she lets herself worry about Steve, eyebrows creasing.
