Will
"The ground shakes, the walls tremble, the wind rips through the cave!" HIs hands fly up dramatically, eyes darting at each face around the table. "The Beast appears! From it's mouth, blood drips. It's teeth bulging from behind it's lips, it's the tallest thing you've ever laid eyes on. Bigger than anything you've fought yet. It lumbers closer, letting out an earth shattering roar."
"What the fuck do we do?" Dustin shrieks, looking at his friends. Lucas' eyes are boring intently into the board, shaking his head.
"We are so dead." He whispers.
"Don't give up, guys!" Mike shakes their shoulders, grinning brightly.
"Wheelers right, we still have a few tricks up out sleeves." Eddie smiles, leaning back in the small chair with a relaxed expression. Dustin groans, leaning over to smack him.
"Easy for you to say- you're already dead!" The curly haired teen snickers at that, and Will's smile starts to hurt his cheeks.
"What's your roll?" He raises both eyebrows, eyes darting around the circle.
"What if we-"
"Knew we'd find you nerds here!" Max bounces down the hallway into the dining room and Mike lets out a long and exaggerated groan at the sight of her. She sticks her tongue out childishly at him when she reaches the table. She stands beside Lucas' chair, who reaches a hand out to hold hers. She rolls her eyes, but takes his anyways.
"What are you doing here?" Will asks, then realizes how that sounds and winces. "Not that I'm unhappy to see you." The girl raises an eyebrow, silver eyes glinting in the basement lights. The scars under them are nearly gone after the past few months.
"Because, El and I wanted to tell you guys we're leaving." As if summoned, the other girl hops down the hall to join the party. Her hair curls just behind her ears now, Will wonders how long it will take to grow out.
"What?!" Lucas asks, while the rest of the table exchanges the same sentiment.
"Well, Max's aunt has a beach house and I want to see the beach!" El says excitedly, coming over to stand next to her best friend.
"How in the world is Hopper okay with this?" WIll laughs, imagining what the man must have said. Since everything went down, it was an unspoken thing that Hopper moved in with the Bylers when they found a place in Hawkins. It wasn't hard after some people ran from the town.
"Well I did argue that I was held in a lab my whole life and I deserve to see the world." El says, using a tone that sounds more like Max than her. Will isn't sure those two should be friends with all the things they get into.
"Sounds about right." Eddie shrugs. "When are you two leaving?"
"In about..." Max checks her nonexistent watch. "Now." She leans down to hug Lucas, the two kissing and making Dustin and Mike gag. Will rolls his eyes, just happy his two friends stopped being idiots.
"Girls have you packed?" Hopper enters the dining room, wearing only his boxers and a wife beater, a newly formed belly on display.
"Jesus, Hop! Put it away!" Mike pretends to gag, and get's swatted on the head by a newspaper.
"You've gone full dad mode!" Dustin laughs, and if looks could kill he'd be six feet under. Will hides his own laugh, clearing his throat as the table stands. El and Max hug everyone, except Max doesn't hug Mike and instead does a weird handshake they came up with.
"We're only going to be gone a week, don't miss us too much." Max grins.
"Of course we will, sweetheart." Joyce enters, wrapping an arm around each girl and kissing the tops of their heads. Max shoves her away playfully while El seems to glow. "Take care of eachother, California is a real shithole." She lets them go, walking to the coffee maker where Hopper is struggling. Will smiles when she laughs at something he says, glad to see him mom so happy.
