"I can't believe you told my mother I call you daddy." I laugh just thinking about the look on her face when it happened. As if telling her that little piece of information wasn't shocking enough, he'd also had me screaming "Daddy" while she was in the next room.

Literally. I'm still stunned by my own actions.

Colson's driving us back to Lindsay's house, and honestly his driving scares the fuck out of me. so the comedic thoughts are appreciated. He shrugs and smirks. "Wasn't a lie, was it?"

"The daddy issues are clearly very real when it comes to me, so no, you weren't lying." I say. "For the record though, it was all your idea. You know, to call you that."

"Oh, I take all the credit, baby." He starts singing his song 'Candy', but with a slight twist. "I'll eat you up like addys, yeah. I'll let you call me Daddy, yeah!"

We pull into the driveway. I playfully slap his shoulder and laugh at his theatrical moment. "You're too much sometimes."

Too much, yet it's never enough.

"Not the first time I've heard that one." He steps out of the car. "Okay. I'm about to be interrogated by your scary ass friend. Any advice to keep me alive?"

Love me. Wait, what? Stop that right now, Madison. I step until I'm right in front of him, and wrap my arms around his waist. I look up at him and smirk. "Don't lie, she's a human lie detector."

He sighs. Is he nervous? "Let's do this."

He takes my hand and we walk up the front stairs. I feel like the energy coming from Colson is a nervous one, which I'm not used to seeing. He's always so confident that he appears untouchable. I gently squeeze his hand, just to say I'm there. We can face this intensely scary and new situation together.

Breathe.

As soon as we step in the door Lindsay is quick to pounce. She looks up from her seat on the couch. "So, how'd that go?"

I roll my eyes. "You know my mother, it's never pleasant. I'm definitely distancing myself after that."

Lindsay sighs. "You know I've always told you that your mom is a complete and total b–..."

"Psychotic bitch?" Colson finishes her sentence.

Lindsay looks at me, and for a moment I can't tell if she's annoyed by the interruption or just processing what happened. Then she breaks out into a fit of laughter. "You get points for that. I like you! Well, I knew I did already but now I like you as Madison's boyfriend."

Colson laughs with her. "Seriously, I don't know who brought that piece of work into the world, but I demand some criminal charges be pressed."

Now I'm giggling, and I guess that's better than crying over someone who is supposed to love you but doesn't.

"On a serious note though. let me lay out a few things if you're dating my best friend." Lindsay points her finger at Colson. Her face has gone stone cold serious. Colson just nods, I think he knows better than to do otherwise.

"I know you're famous and the ideal dreamy bad boy, but If you hurt my best friend, I know how to hide a body. I've watched every single episode of 'snapped' and I know every mistake to avoid so I don't get caught. If you cheat on my best friend, I will serve your junk to you for breakfast. If you ever make her cry, I have the right to punch you in that pretty face of yours." Lindsays rant comes to an end, and she's almost out of breath after spewing it all in one go.

"Okay, she's worth a mangled face if I fuck up. Where do I sign?" Colson replies, which has Lindsay drop her tough act and smile.

"Okay, you pass." She says. "But, just know I'll be keeping a close eye on you, don't mess up."
