My foot is tapping against the floor as I wait impatiently for Colson. When we came into the station I was slapped with a warning, while they took him to be booked and processed. Which was complete bullshit. It's been over an hour. The whole thing is ridiculous. Kyle has been the one harassing me, then he made a threat to Colson, but you don't see him here. Instead, he's icing his face on his comfy couch. that used to be ours. I paid for the fucking thing.

Lindsay: are you sure you don't want me to come get you?

Me: I'm not leaving until I know what's happening with him. Thank you though, I'll keep you updated.

I'm not going anywhere without Colson, I'll stay here all fucking day. All I know is if the woman at this front desk doesn't stop smacking her gum while she's chewing, I'm going to lose my mind. Then I hear his voice before I can actually see him. Butterflies flood my stomach with excitement.

"Ay, thanks again, Barnes." Colson says.

He emerges with an older man in a grey suit. "I should be thanking you, Mr. baker. You keep me in business." Barnes jokes and shakes his hand. "Stay out of trouble, I'll handle the rest and we will be in touch." They say their goodbyes and he walks out of the station.

Colson finally looks around to find me and smiles when he sees me. "There she is. Get over here." I'm so happy to finally see him that I race over and throw myself at him. Not ashamed in the slightest.

He laughs at my dramatic hello. "I told you to wait at home. You're too pretty to be in this place. Come on, let's get you out of here." He says and just starts walking while I'm still all wrapped around him. I make no effort to get down. There's a familiar face when we step outside, I don't know his name but he's on Colson's security team. He's waiting by a blacked out suburban for us.

"I can walk." I offer as he continues carrying me to the car.

He smirks. "I know that, but I like you right where you are."

So, I latch onto him tighter because I'm not going to argue his reasoning when it makes me all melted inside. Girl, I've got it so bad. Once we're situated in the car, colson lets me know we're going to his house. Which is fine, I don't care where we go. I've always been curious about his Cleveland home anyway. It's not like I haven't seen pictures, but there's always more than what you see in a photograph.

"So, what's going to happen with all this?" I ask. I lean against him, laying my head on his shoulder.

"Seems after I made my phone call to Slim to have him call my lawyer, Kyle decided to not press charges after all." Colson shrugs and tries to keep a straight face.

I tilt my head, slightly confused. "Why would he do that? You knocked him out cold, and Kyle isn't exactly the forgiving type."

"I have no idea." His lips spread into a grin, and a lightbulb in my brain turns on. I finally get it.

"Someone must've had a heart to heart with him, huh?" I ask, but what I really meant was someone must have threatened another fist to the face.

He nods slowly. "Yup, that must be it." I cross my arms and give him a stern look. I'm not stupid. "Don't worry that pretty head of yours. I didn't do anything, just had slim pass along a message. It's all good, baby."

I feel as if I'm dating someone in the mafia. Like he sent someone over to break Kyles kneecaps or something. Strangely, this doesn't bother me at all. It's never a dull moment with Colson, and I knew it was  what I was signing up for.

"So, you guys were friends? Good friends?" I
ask remembering that little fact had been revealed during the arguing.

"Naw. not good friends. We ran with the same crew. " He clarifies. " I found out he was talking shit to people who were trying to help me get noticed in the industry. He almost burned some bridges for me."
