Blood Pact

Ivy Ross was reported to have moved to the States for a treatment of some kind. And the reason why she hasn’t been coming to school as of late was because of that sickness she had. It was a type that easily progressed and dealt her immobile as it escalates. Her family sent an official letter to the office of the principal saying that their daughter wishes to bid her friends adieu but could not do so with her present condition and does not want anyone to see her in that condition either.

Atleast, that’s the entire story Yuu and I came up with.

“Ruby, shouldn’t you be going home by now?” he asked.

We were inside The Archives, convening on the latest information we had. First off, Errzabeth has resurfaced and is in fact in Meluna. She has control over vampires and minions all around the city that are unidentified.

“Ruby…” then it was Rikki.

“Ivy said something about bringing me to Transylvania…to Mother, which could only be Errzabeth, right? But we all saw what happened to her when she tried talking about Errzabeth. Yuu told me that Blood Ties could only work when the head vampire who turned you was near.” I said, dropping myself to a lotus position on rug, right next to Yuuzel’s chair.

He looked down as he sat on it and nodded to everything.

“But if Errzabeth should be in Transylvania then she couldn’t have acted out at Ivy through blood tie. She had to be near her when we were about to interrogate her. That could only mean that she is in Meluna…” It wasn’t as though no one had drawn out the same conclusion yet. It was just that I wasn’t on terms that made me wanna believe such conclusions.

Fred and the Night guards were also there. They were tasked on Papal decree to continue on the hunt for Errzabeth. And since we weren’t able to get any more intelligence from Ivy besides that she has resurfaced and might very well be in Meluna, our job then was to gather more info to Errzabeth’s whereabouts.

And there’s this other thing mom was nagging me about. The blood contract I had with Yuuzel. Apparently, when a vampire drinks blood from someone that allows him to control that someone and consciously receive all the things that someone is sensing: vision, hearing, smell…etc. But it’s not like I was turned into a vampire too.

‘No…’ Yuuzel rested the side of his face on the top of his hand. Fortunately for me, Yuuzel is not that type of vampire and neither does he have the desire to control me. I could tell. Because for some reason, I was also receiving the same things that Yuuzel is feeling right now, his thoughts, even his emotions…and something else, when we’re this close - And we can conveniently speak to one another without having others eavesdrop in on our conversation. We spoke to each other directly in our minds, Kind’a sounds like telepathy…something like that.

‘Then how do you turn someone into a vampire?’ I asked.

‘It has to be of mutual consciousness…If the human is not aware or does not relent to being turned he or she either becomes a mindless minion or a vampire with no clue.’

‘How come you didn’t turn me then?’

‘You know the answer…’ he said.

The answer was simple. Deep inside Yuu’s heart I could feel that he cares for me deeply and that he would rather kill himself than hurt me anymore than that. It was a little creepy how I had word it out like that but that is exactly how he felt right now.

    Yuuzel chuckled.

“Look I know you guys are tight but right now, we gotta have a new game plan for hunting down Errzabeth.” Rikki said, making their presence known.
