The day started like normal, the sun was rising slowly illuminating the side of the mountain, revealing the tall trees with their branches waving around slowly from the light breeze passing by.
Animals were out and about finding food to eat or frolicking through the woods.
Though that wasn't the only thing happening as there were three people who were also near the woods.
The tallest of the three was currently holding onto a large tree, the poor thing had actually moved from its original spot as seen by the dirt gathering behind the trunk.
This figure was, of course, Amira and the other two was her sensei and Tanjiro, who were currently trying to pull her towards a nearby river .
The reason for this was simple, Amira had no idea how to swim or float on water, they discovered this during training where she just sunk to the bottom during the time Tanjiro had been pushed off a ledge into the waterfall.
The two men were actually struggling quite a lot, which just proved how strong the thin girl was even with her twig like arms.
"Come on Amira, this will be a good lesson for you and it's always nice to learn more things that could help us. " the sweetheart of a boy spoke up with his cheeks puffed up as he felt his arms start to weaken from the amount of pulling they had been doing which had been going on for maybe 20 minutes in total.
"The boy is right, you have to learn to float and swim, you can't rely on someone to be there to save you " The older man grumbled in slight frustration while internally marvelling at her strength to hold onto something though he was worried that they might dislocate one of her bones.
The stubborn girl remained quiet as she sniffles trembling a bit at the thought of returning in the water, not really believing it to be possible for someone like her to even swim since the two times she had been in water, she always sunk to the bottom.
Why can't she just rely on Tanjiro, he has saved her multiple times, so what's the point.
"Please Amira, I don't want to worry about you being in trouble and me not being there to save you...I don't want to lose you too " he whispered the last part as he wiped his face against his sleeve.
She heard him, she heard his tone...his worried tone which ended up with her finally deciding.
TimeSkip:
The three were now beside a lake that was connected to a river, Urokodaki was standing with his arms crossed for a moment before carefully walking into the water " It would be best if you learnt to swim with your clothes since I doubt you would ever swim for your leisure."
The girl in question quietly huffs nodding a little in agreement to his guess as she stares at the water with a small frown on her face .
"Don't worry Amira, you will learn to swim in no time. " Tanjiro smiled at her with confidence as he joined his sensei in the water as well, it reached up to his chest ." And since you're so tall, you won't be able to sink."
She puffs her face before slowly stepping into the water hesitantly, her whole body flinching at the feeling since it was cold.
Multiple images flash in her mind as she quickly moved to get out only for her hand to be grabbed gently by a warm grip.
Her head turned, meeting the warm dark red eyes of Tanjiro, her body relaxing after a minute or two, she slowly waded back into the water to stand beside him. She then glances over at the masked face of their teacher.
"Okay now...lets start training and make sure you don't accidentally drown because of your lack of knowledge on swimming. " The words were harsh but it was for the best if she learnt how to swim, it won't be too difficult, was the last thing the old man thought .
