The trio continued their long walk, only stopping at a cave for a rest as the sun started peaking out of the clouds.
Tanjiro looked into the cave quietly, vaguely remembering the warning Giyuu gave them.
He decided that the two should stay here while he left to search for a solution on how to continue travelling during the day with Nezuko.
Amira watches Nezuko as she moves to the back of the cave, her eyes widen a bit in surprise as the girl starts to dig into the ground.
She turned to look at Tanjiro only to find him gone, her body started to tremble as her eyes closed tightly, feeling her throat constrict at the thought of him not coming back.
Amira then felt a small hand hold her own which snapped her out of her panicked state, she looked towards Nezuko, who was tugging her hand towards the hole she had dug.
"...Ne..ne ?" Her head tilted in slight confusion before she moved closer and carefully entered the hole her head easily peeking out from it since her height didn't allow her to go in completely.
She stared down at Nezuko, who had decided to curl up into her haori.
She had retrieved it when Giyuu left them.
She remained still until she heard the sound of footsteps, revealing Tanjiro who was holding a basket he had fixed.
He stared in confusion as he walked in. " Amira where is Nezuko ?" He added a light shrug when he asked.
She blinks slowly then shifts to stand as she points at her haori before lifting it to the side revealing a pair of pink eyes " Ne..ne..." The shrug signified the word 'Where'.
He blinked slowly before placing the basket down. " Come here Nezuko, try going inside the basket. "He lays it on its side and points at the basket.
The little demon blinked before leaving the haori as she crawled to the box trying to get in but her size wouldn't let her.
Amira stared in confusion as her head tilted. 'Eh...why is she trying to get into a basket ?' She tilted her head watching in surprise as Tanjiro made a gesture while speaking in an encouraging tone. Her eyes widened as the girl got smaller, now able to fit into the basket.
Yes, she was still unaware of what exactly Nezuko is or what she can do so it was insane to watch.
"Good job, Nezuko." He smiled patting her head." Now one more thing. " He gently places his haori over her head to cover her completely.
He looked over at Amira seeing her confused look.
He chuckles then gets up once he moves the straps onto his shoulders." It's fine Amira ..we have to keep going. "He gently took her hand and made his way out of the cave.
Amira was a bit hunched over to avoid hitting her head against the cave roof. She hums softly noticing how he didn't react to what happened so she calmed down and followed him.
They continued walking for a while they only stopped to ask a woman for directions to the mountain. Amira remained silent while staring off to the side, this was very new to her and it made her anxious, this was the first time she had ever gone this far from the place she had called home.
It was starting to get dark, allowing Nezuko to come out and walk beside them while she held Tanjiro's hand.
Amira started to shudder looking down as she heard her stomach growl. She gently holds her stomach as she softly whines.
Tanjiro pauses looking at her in worry." I guess you would be hungry...well just hang on for a bit more maybe we will find a place and ask...or perhaps some berries." He smiled as he started to search the area for anything edible that she could eat.
