I sat in Deaton's clinic on one of the counters while him and Scott worked, I have a theory that Deaton likes me a little bit not that I know why but of the people who constantly use his clinic as a supernatural meeting place I think i'm one of his favorites. I don't really want to talk about my mom anymore it's not like i've fully healed you never really do, do you? You can't just wake up one day and say "this isn't painful anymore," and that actually be true I've dealt with enough pain grief in my life to know that's not how it works. I had a habit of shutting down when stuff like this happens I did it when my Aunt Dani died when I was 12 and again now, Allison would always force me to open up but she had shut down in her own way. Deaton looked up from his work when there was a knock at the door asking Scott to go get it. Scott got up to go see who it was and I followed him in slight interest. He paused at the doorway causing Deaton to follow us and see who it was at the door was Isaac cold and sad looking.                                                                              "It's okay, Isaac. we're open," Deaton told him with a polite smile opening the door for him. I smiled rushing over to him and hugging him causing him to laugh in slight surprise at the hug, I led him through the door. Deaton and Scott were trying to help a dog on the table while Isaac looked at their work in confusion and disgust.                                                                                                                "Why does it smell like that?" Isaac asked Deaton and the man chuckled slightly causing more confusion for Is, "What?"                                                                                                                                                          "Scott said almost the same thing to me a few months ago," Deaton explained looking between the boys, "One day he could somehow tell the difference between which animals were getting better and which were not." I felt slightly sad over that fact because it was obvious that it meant this dog wasn't getting better and he looked so innocent it hurt to think about. Why did everything die?                                                                                                                                                                             "He's not getting better is he? like cancer?" Isaac asked sadness on his face, almost sympathy and I shook my head giving him a solemn smile while Deaton explained.                                                         "Osteosarcoma. It has a very distinct scent, doesn't it?" Deaton asked him before noticing the look on his face and waving him forward, "Come here. I know you're well aware of what your new abilities can do for you. Improved strength, speed, and healing. Do you ever wonder what it could do for others?" Deaton continued before telling him to give him his hand, he slowly guided Isaac's hand to the dog and I knew he was teaching Isaac to take others'pain. He looked confused as the black went up his arm and I put my hand on his shoulder for comfort, he looked to Deaton, "What did I do?"                                                                                                                                                      "You took his pain," Scott answered with a smile. Wonder crossed his face as Deaton continued to explain that even though it was little it still made a difference. Isaac started to cry and Scott smiled at him, "It's okay, the first time he showed me I cried too," Scott admitted and chuckled as Isaac dropped  his hand from his face a smile lighting up his face, happiness and wonder on his face as he looked at the dog before looking at me with guilt then at Deaton again,  "Can we take emotional pain, too?" He asked Deaton and Deaton glanced at me with sympathy before shaking his head no. I smiled at Isaac telling him it was okay, shrugging a little.
