~2 days before leaving~
Katherine Sparks has been going to cousins beach with her family every summer since before she could remember. The almost 18-year-old couldn't be more excited to see some of her best friends and get away from her home in Phoenix, Arizona. As she sat on her bed with her best friend, Caitlin they talked about everything and anything.
Caitlin was laying down on Katherine's bed while Katherine sat there packing her suitcase before she had to leave for Cousins. "I can't believe you're leaving me again, Kat. Can't you just stay home for one summer so I can spend it with you?" Caitlin said with an eye roll.
Katherine chuckled and turned to look at her friend, "You and I have been friends for 4 years and you don't know how this works by now? I go to Cousins every year to see my friends." Katherine huffed as she tried to close her suitcase. "But, this year is different since I'll be seeing you in a couple of weeks right?"
Caitlin groaned rolling onto her back, "But that's so far from now." Katherine rolled her eyes at the comment sitting down next to her best friend after she got her suitcase closed and put it on the floor.
"Oh come on, it's only a few weeks at the end of June. We'll be fine. We'll facetime and text whenever we can," Katherine said with her signature white and bright smile. Caitlin sighed turning to look at her best friend, "Plus, you wouldn't miss out on my 18th birthday and a chance to finally meet Jeremiah Fisher would you?"
Caitlin quickly sat up at the mention of the blonde-headed boy. Caitlin has had a crush on the boy for over a year now even though she's never met the boy in person. She's only met him through facetime when Katherine was up in cousins but still liked him nonetheless.
"Ugh of course I want to meet the dreamboat. Just don't forget about me," Caitlin said with a little bit of a smile. Caitlin then tackles the girl in a hug making both of them laugh obnoxiously loud.

Author's Note: This is just a little introduction to Katherine and what her and Caitlin's relationship is. The next chapter will be the official beginning of this story which we'll see soon. I'll probably go back and forth between calling Katherine her actual name and Kat so y'all are aware.
