"He'll be here any minute now, hold your position", Steve tells me on the phone.
"There's hundreds of buildings in New York, how can you be sure he'll spot me?", I brush my hands over my arms to warm me up a little.
"He has a sense for it, what was it called again...", he goes silent for a moment. "It doesn't matter, he'll be here. You know the plan right?"
"I do and I hate it"
"You're gonna be fine. You're better at this than you think", he reassures.
"I know I'm not too bad, I just don't like taking initiative", I say thinking of the socialising that's ahead.
"Then I'm afraid you're in the wrong business kid", he makes me somehow feel worse. I have a lot to overcome if I want to achieve anything with these powers. Wait, he called me kid. I need to practice my game if I want any special attention from him; he sees me as a total fool right now.
"I have to hang up, keep your chin up okay", Steve says rushed.
"I will", I respond while getting the tingles again from his charming choice of words.
Steve hangs up and I'm left here to wait on the rooftop of a random building. To think a lot of those battles were fought here... My eyes get stuck on a memorial billboard of Tony Stark. What a unique kind of hero he was. Definitely something to aspire to. I would have been intimidated to even look at him.

"I was too", I hear out of nowhere. I get so startled I almost tumble off the building. I really am a fool. I get hit by some white sticky stuff and pulled back onto the building.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you, are you alright?", he helps me up.
"I'm okay really, no worries", I feel surprisingly calm being rescued by him. This has to be THE Spider-man. Ironically the guy I was looking for before, but I need his help for my new mission.
"So what are you doing up here? Cloudspotting also works from down there", he says jokingly, but with a concerned undertone.
"You spotted a cloud yourself, I was waiting for you to show up", I respond.
I can tell even with the mask that he's puzzled at what I just said. Frankly, so am I.
"They call me Cloudburst", I follow up.
"Oh, so you've got superpowers? That's awesome! What do you do man", he says enthousiastically.
I put my hand in my sides and try to pose myself as a superhero. "I got wind powers, you know, fly and blast wind and stuff."
"That sounds so cool, you've got to show me some moves. But ehm, aren't clouds made with wind AND water?"
Great, another authority that tells me that I'm perfect to have water powers, just like all those quizzes I took online when I was younger. Okay, I took some of them this year. But still, I believed these powers better suited me, guess fate thought the same. Maybe I that gut feeling thing isn't so bad after all.
"You said you were waiting for me, how can I help?", Spider-man puts his hands on his sides. He does it way better than I did.
"I need your help tracking new heroes to create a group with", I try to keep it vague.
"I dunno, it sounds kinda sketchy. Maybe I could tell the Avengers about you or something", he's rightfully suspicious of me. But I can't blow Steve's cover.
"Let's just say I aspire to become a different kind of Avenger", I tell him.
He remains silent. I wonder if he thinks I'm up to bad things now.
"I know it sounds a bit odd, but I literally almost just fell of this building which doesn't sound very---", I try to continue, but he cuts me off by making a shushing noise and putting his index finger seemingly to his mouth.
"I'm sensing something... Come with me, quick", he says while jumping of this building, using his webs to swing from building to building.
I run to the ledge of the building and blast myself after him. I keep myself in the air by blasting air from by hands and feet, almost like Iron Man used to in this city. This place is the perfect flight training, and Spider-man isn't making it easy to be followed.

In the middlee of the street we see something out of this world: a red dragon. It's somewhat bigger than an average jock and seems to be fighting a girl with a rapier who vaguely reminds me of a gladiator. Spider-man is already down there, trying to diffuse the situation. I better stick the landing this time, people are watching. If Steve thinks I can do it, I might be able to--- nope nevermind I somersaulted and fell on my hands. I don't think people noticed though. I make my way over to the situation. The girl has dissappeared, the dragon is shrinking into a human-sized, well, human. Not a jock, but for sure a guy about as tall as I am.

"What's going on?", Spider-man asks the dragon guy.
He stretches his back. "That girl's been tracking me for a few days, maybe a week. I don't know how she knew about my powers, but the whole city knows now."
"Do you know who she is", I ask him.
"I don't know her, she called herself Lady Aether", he scratches his head.
I realise we're still in the middle of a crossroad and people are staring and whispering, it seems the other guys caught on as well.
"I'll handle them", Spider-man says as he walks over to incoming authorities.
"So whatever happens now?", the guy asks me.
"She attacked you right? I'm sure you'll be fine. Does it bother you that people know now?"
He looks around him, thinking it over. "I'm not the attention type. I figured I'd put these powers to good use at some point, but the whole discovery of them is still freaking me out."
He starts to get nervous.
"What if I can offer you an opportunity to improve your powers, I know someone that might be able to help", I realise I'm doing a lousy job selling this concept.
"Are you asking me to join your boy band?", he says sceptically.
"I am asking you to join a group of sorts. I'm looking for young and inexperienced super humans who are willing to become something like, let's say, the Avengers", I try to use my most charismatic voice.
"What would I have to do?", he asks sternly.
"Help me find others, so we can start helping people too", I look as Spider-man.
The guy follows my glance and looks back to me. He sticks out his hand toward me.
"Sign me up"
I shake his hand. "Really? That's awesome. My name's Kelvin by the way", I can't believe it worked. The sudden joy I feel in my chest starts rushing through my body.
"The name's Markus Drake", he nods to me, smirking at my unhidden excitement.
"This might be a stretch, but do you maybe know someone else who might fit the bill", I ask him.
"Actually, I do know someone", he says with a growing smile on his face.
