Ninjago: Legacy

Part One: Average Day

Alright, same day over and over again. Wake up at 6:30 to get ready for school. I put on a green sweatshirt and black lulu leggings with white nike socks and my rugged up converse. To look somewhat cute I curled my hair the best I could, and put concealer in my under eyes and mascara to tie it all together. It was a cooler and rainy today so I got my grey beanie. I grabbed my backpack, phone, AirPods and my keys and walked downstairs to grab something to eat since I was already running late, like I usually do. I got a granola bar and filled up my green water bottle with way to many dents in it.

"Running late again, are we?" It was my dad. Lloyd Garmadon. "Lydia, I thought I told you to set your alarm for an earlier time. I know we live close to the school, but still." Again with this lecture. "I get to class on time anyway, so I don't really see the problem." I said. "You'll understand at some point. Just get to school, you're going to be late." He was right, I looked at the clock. 7:13. I'm usually out the door by 7:10. "Shit, I'll see you later, bye dad, love you." "Love you to green girl."

Green girl. That was the shitiest nickname ever given to a kid, especially when your entire team calls you that. I popped my headphones in, grabbed my skateboard and went to school. I got there in record time. "Hey kiddo, where the hell have you been? We were about to start the meeting without you." Kaya, the fire ninja and former leader. I looked up to her a lot as a kid but now, she's just... changed. "Cut her some slack, we were all out late last night." Sidney, basically my mother on the team. Ever since Kaya changed, Sidney has looked after me. Giving me advice on high school, helping me with homework, and being an overall nice person. I didn't talk to her much until I became a freshman when I really saw how much Kaya had changed. "It's okay Lydia, we all slept in, Kaya is wearing her pjs right now." "Shut the hell up Vienna." Vienna was a year older than me, she taught me how to play guitar and basically gave me my taste in music. She's the new master of Earth. She's super cool and she just willingly took me under her wing. Thats what I liked about her. She didn't care who you were, she was just willing to help you regardless. "Anyway, should we get started on the meeting, or wait till lunch?" Nick. Nick was the water ninja and loved talking to me. He was the same age as me but older by many months. He was always there and my second choice to go to if things got tough. "I feel like we should wait. Last night was crazy enough, and I think we all need a second to wake up, especially Lydia." "Agreed" Jenna and Zoe. My favorite girls on the team. Jenna was the master of lightening and Zoe was the master of ice. Jenna was Nick's twin sister and we all got along pretty well. Jenna was like my best friend. Zoe is adopted my Zane and Pixel, and she's totally cool about it. She was adopted when she was an infant and gained the ice power from Zane in a way I will never understand. Zoe helped me find what my style was and taught me how to skateboard. She also gave me the habit of making my study notes look pretty. "If that's alright with you Lydia." Zoe was always so polite. "Yea that's fine, I'm chill with whatever. So we meet at lunch, table in to corner?" "Yes," they all said in unison. "Alright see you guys then"

My first period, Choir. I don't really try in choir. It's an easy A anyway so there really is no reason to try. I had last nights mission on replay in my head. And this was the first big one that we've had. We have been getting calls from an unknown source about crimes that were happening in the city. And last night, there was a group of three people. Two boys, one girl. They were running away from the mission we had all completed. I followed them until it lead to the Palace of Ninjago City. The last time anyone hd been there was when Garmadon, my grandfather, was resurrected. He's still out there and it gives me a nervous feeling. I was walking around, searching for them. when someone bumped into me. "Woah, sorry." It was a boy with blonde, silky hair, with a mask on that was covering his mouth and nose. It looked a bit like an Oni mask. Like the one Yoru from Valorant wears. "It's fine. Who are you?" "I'm Harry, who are you?" "I'm Lydia, the green ninja." "I know. Everyone knows who you are. Lydia. I'm going to be honest here, I want no trouble, so i'll cut to the chase. You and me, are the same person." "What do you mean we're the same person?" "We come from the same family." "You're related to Garmadon?" "Yes, but there's more to the story that I can't explain here. If you want to know everything, meet me under the bleachers at the football game tomorrow night." I looked down at the floor. "Okay, but why the-" My head peered up. He was gone. I had to get back to the others or at least tell them were I went. I texted them in the group chat we have.

L- "Hey, just saying I went home early because I didn't feel good."
N- "It's alr Lydia"
V- "Yea no worries :D"

The bell rang and I snapped out if my trance, I went to my next class, History. My favorite class, also my best class. I walked in and sat min my usually seat. "Class, we have a new student. His name is Harry." My head shit up hearing the name Harry, but he didn't look like the one I saw last night. He had blonde hair but different features, but I couldn't tell because his face was covered by the mask, I could only see his eyes. But now I'm looking at his full face. This had to be him hut I couldn't be sure. "Harry, you'll be sitting next to Lydia." Okay, this was now my chance ti figure it out. "Bow that we are all situated, lets discuss you're First quarter final project. You must choose one major battle in Ninjago's history to write about. This project must contain some type of visual aid as well, such as a diorama, slideshow, pictures, ext. You will have time to work on it in class but I recommend working on it outside of school, since there is also a midterm you all must take. We will be reviewing for the exam most of next week, so you won't get much class time to work. So make arrangements now and exchange numbers so you can figure something out with you're partners. You will be working with the person next to you." I had to work with Harry, since I sat by the window and he was on my left. Everyone stood up next to their partners and got their numbers and started talking about what they were going to do for their project. "I also forgot to mention, it can be ANY battle. Even ones that we have nor gone over yet in class. You may start today in class if you wish."

I walked up to Harry's desk. "So we're partners, and I'm guessing you already know who I am." "Yes, you're Lydia. The green ninja, we met last night." So this is him. "Yea, its me. Anyway, what should we do for the project? I was thinking when Garmadon was resurrected and the resistance was fighting him." "I was just about to say that or the Sons of Garmadon." "Maybe Mr. French will let us do both and put them together." "Maybe, but he said only one battle. Which one are you more familiar with?" "I'd say the Resistance Battle." "Same." "So do you want to exchange numbers so we can find a time to work on it?" "Sure." He gave me his number and I put it in my phone. I sent him a message to see if it worked.
L- Hey
H-Wassup
"Good thing it worked." "Yea"
H-Are we still meeting at the bleachers tonight?
L-Does after the game work, I'm going with my team.
H-thats alright

The bell rang and I grabbed my folder, notebook and pencil case and went o my locker. My next class was math which I had with Jenna, Nick and Sidney. I loved that class because we were all in the same group. I got my math folder, notebook and waked to my next class. I walk in and my group is sitting there chatting. I walk up and sit in my seat. "Lydia, wassup?" "Hey guys." "How was history" Sidney asked. "It was alright, I have a midterm project and exam, and I have to work with the new student." "New student? Who?" Jenna always had to know everything at every moment in time. "His name is Harry. I don't know much about him b-." "Quiet class, please pull out your homework from last night and check your answers ti see if they match the ones on the board." We all did as we were told. I got most of the answers right. 14/15. Seriously, only one question wrong. I looked at my groups papers. they all got the same thing. We usually did the homework together at lunch,like we did yesterday. "Does anyone have any questions about the homework?" I raised my hand. "Lydia." "Number 7, please." "Okay, I'll explain how I got my answer." "Thank you." She explained how to do the problem and I listened to the best of my ability. "Does that make sense to everyone?" They all said yes. "Good, now I want to talk to you about your midterm exam, you will be taking two. One with your team and one alone. The quizzes will be the same but the numbers are changed. Today I'll be passing out review packets for you and your team. You are to complete one page a day. You may get started now since we have a shortened period." We all start working on the packet. "I'm just going to di the while packet at once." "Lydia, that'll drain you out. How about just two pages a day?" Sidney always had to analyze the things I said, and she was right, the last time I tried to do that, I didn't sleep. "Fine, I'll listen just this once."

About twenty minutes go by and I have finished two pages of the packet. The bell rings and I don't hesitate to get up and go to my locker and get my lunch so I can meet with the team. I've felt terrible for being late this morning and waisting time. I usually eat lunch, but I might not get ti today. I'm going to tell the team about my little side mission instead of the actual one. That one is more important.
