Part Five: Decision

Chapter 5
I got up and started waking upstairs. I turned and faced my family. "Thanks for the pizza Rumi, I'm gonna go to bed if that's alright." Rumi stood up and stretched. "That's alright sweetheart, I think we're all tired. Go get some rest." "Alright, goodnight." My dad stood up and gave a me a hug. He usually did that. My dad loves hugs. He says they are like a big stress ball. He's the stress ball and whom ever he's hugging is squeezing the stress out if him. It's really wholesome if you think about it. I felt someone else's hand on my back. It was Rumi's. I didn't say anything for move at all. I think she needed this from her daughter that she has missed for 14 years. "Love you guys." Rumi gave me a sweet smile and I went up to my room. I walked in and changed into a sports bra and my sweatpants. I out my hair in a bun so my hair wasn't a mess in the morning. I turned my main light off so it was only my fairy lights shining. I fell asleep to the sound of the crickets outside.

I woke up to my alarm at 7:10. I hopped out of bed and put on my training clothes: dry fit sweatpants, sports bra, and a green dry fit t-shirt. I put on white socks and my Nike new balances. I put my hair into a ponytail. I was going to have Jenna dutch braid them so I had to hurry over to her town house. Everyone lived in town houses in the same neighborhood. I walked downstairs and grabbed a protein bar and my Hydro Flask. My dad was awake standing in the kitchen sipping on his coffee. "I'm headed out, I'll text you when I'm coming back home. I think we were all going to lunch together." My dad turned to face me. His hair was bushy and his shirt has lots of wrinkles on it. "Alright kiddo, I'll see you later. I have to go into the bunk and fill out some applications. When Zoe was born, the ninja started the National Ninja Society (NNS). Regular civilians work with the ninja and help deal with small problems when the ninja can't be in the area. So they're basically Ninjago's special forces. My dad is one of the major figures there. He also helps to train the new applicants.   "Alright, see'ya dad." I gave him a hug and walked outside. The morning dew on the grass with fog in the air was one of my favorite settings. I much prefer the rain than the sun. I hopped on my board and skated over the Jenna's house.

The lights were on, so everyone was up. I walked up to the back door a knocked. Nya answered. "Lydia' sweetie, you know you can just walk in right?" He was holding Jenna's little sister, Millie. "That would be rude though, and Hi Millie." "Hi." Millie was always hiper, so she's the reason everyone in the house was awake. "Anyway Lydia, Jenna is in her room." "Thank you." I walked up into Jenna's room. She had her headphones in and was listening ti something, my perfect chance to scare her. I snuck up her. "JENNA!" She screamed. "AHH! LYDIA WHAT THE HELL!?" I burst out laughing and she did the same. "Anyway, can you get started in my hair please, I have a lot to talk to you about." "Alright." I sat down on the floor and she sat of her bed. She took my hair out off the ponytail. She then got to work on braiding my hair. "Alright, tell me whats going on. Because the last time I saw you you were scared, crying and couldn't barley speak." "Alright, so on Friday, I went home and talked to my dad. He told me that it was safer for me to go with Lloyd because Harumi wanted to find Garmadon. He told her that it was a big risk that he couldn't take. She understood but still had more to say to him about it. There was a bug fight between them about what would happen to me and Harry. In result, he took me and she took my brother. I don't know where they went, I was too young to remember anything. When I became a ninja, Harumi talked to my dad and said she was moving to Ninjago City. They met up and apologized to eachother. She wanted to put Harry in school, and my dad thought it would be a good idea, but we wouldn't be in the same school anyway." "Damn, and this all happened on Friday after the game?" "Yea, but there's more."

She was already done the first side of my braids and was starting on the other side. "Yesterday morning, I woke up and went surfing with my dad. It was really nice and relaxed me and I was able to get all of that stress out. We then went to breakfast and he told me that Harumi and Harry are moving in with us. They were coming around 5 that evening so we had an entire day to clean out that extra room upstairs. We did that and dad ran to Ikea and got furniture for the room. He built it while I cleaned the bathroom. We got done around 3 so I went downstairs to wax my surfboard. Then I heard someone in the parking lot on a skateboard. It was JJ. He was one to the people to were with Harumi on Friday night. He was trying to do an ollie. I did one on his board and noticed that the wheels were bad. So I took it back to the shack and gave it a looser grin around the wheels. He then got in the board and could go a lot faster. I told the way I got my ollie was putting things in front of me to jump over. He then went on his way, and I went inside to get ready. They got there at 5 and we started moving their things into the rooms. I found out Harry plays on PC so I friended him on a bunch of the games. I went downstairs a found out Harumi ordered Pizza, so I told Harry and he was on the phone with Cleo, the other person with Harumi. She said she was sorry and that I seemed like a cool person. . He went downstairs and we watched a movie and ate pizza. I then went to bed and thats all that has happened." "Jesus, I've done nothing these past two days. Well I finished your braids, lets get going."

We walked downstairs and said goodbye to her parents. She got on her bike and handed me the rope so I could hold on while she went. We rode to Zoe's house and got in her car. "God what took you two so long?" "Sorry Zoe, Lydia was telling me her life story while I was braiding her hair." "Get un the car, we're going to be late. Wait, Jenna were's Nick?" "THAT DUMBASS SPENT THE NIGHT AT JONAHS HOUSE. I told him we had training today and he said you can just pick him up, JONAH LIVES THE WHOLR WAY ACROSS TOWN. Honestly Zoe, I wouldn't even bother." "There's no way I'm picking him up, thats and extra 20 minutes to get there, and that would make us late." We drive off toward the monastery. That's were we train and were we stay in the summer sometimes when Sensei Wu would make us do Sunrise Exercise. I put one AirPod in my ear an listened to music. Running Up That Hill was playing and I like the message to it. I would get God ti swap out my place with someone else's. Everyone thinks that they can do my job way better than I can. It's really hard to do. On top of school, sports, and work, it gets complicated. brutal by Olivia Rodrigo started playing. I love Olivia's songs, and this one was my favorite. Mostly because it's what I mostly think. Operation New Me was the next one after that. I just liked the song in general. It sounded so good with great lyrics. A band in Ninjago made that song and it's played at almost every festival and it's on the radio all the time.

Time went by where I was just listening until we got to the mountain that led us up to the monastery. Good thing we weren't walking up that thing. Zoe pressed the button on the garage door. Two small sections on the mountain opened up and we drove in. When we were in, the door shut. Zoe drove up a ramp to the main control area where the big screens are and all of out vehicles. Zoe parked and we all got out of the car. I left my skateboard in the car. I couldn't go anywhere with Lani. I named my skateboard Lani a few years ago and I've always liked the name. That's also what my dad almost named me. I went toward the elevator with my team. We went up and walked out into the courtyard. Master Wu stood still looking at us. We got in our line and bowed down got greet him. "Rise students, I want you all to work on fighting the urge to use your elements." We all started walking forward before Sensei spoke up. "Lydia, I would like to speak with you privately." Everyone froze and looked at me. He walked into his meditation room and I followed.

When I first walked in I saw Harry, JJ, Cleo, Harumi, Ym dad, and my grandma, Misako. Sensei Wu sat in-front of his essence bowl while everyone sat around him. "Alright so there's been a lot of things happening these past few days," I looked around and saw that Misako looked angry, my dad had a blank face like Rumi and Harry. Cleo and JJ looked concerned. "And I feel like decisions must be made to secure this family. Lydia, as the leader of the team, you are allowed to approve of deny these decisions. The first decision is if the ninja should welcome these three onto the team." Everyone was silent until Misako spoke up. "No, absolutely not, these three are a threat to the ninja, they will only cause more harm to the city as well as the ninja." "What the hell are you talking about lady?" It was Cleo, she looked really mad. "First of all, we are the only reason Ninjago is still standing. We discover the crimes and other problems occurring in this country and we tell the ninja. We are that unknown source that keeps this place standing. I have no idea who you think you are just walking in here and thinking we're the bad guys because we have masks that can bring people back from the dead." Everyone fell silent after she said that. "Lydia, it's your call," Master Wu spoke up. "The choice is yours." It would be beneficial to have others on the pillar ninja team, especially with other powers, we can trust them, and the last thing I would want is someone to get hurt and have no replacements. I made eye contact with JJ and Harry. I made my decision. "I'll be happy to welcome these three to the ninja team."

Hello everyone, I am SO SORRY that I have not done anything these few weeks. I started writing chapter 5 and school started and I became really busy. Along with golf matches, school assignments I needed to finish, it has been A LOT. I will try to upload a chapter every Saturday or Sunday. I see you soon with the next chapter. :)))))
