12:51 AMChicago, IL | Phoenix Casino
I reached into my pocket for the key to the 2014 Porsche Boxster.
Oh, it still looked as magical as it did when Owen handed it to me. I pushed the button with the unlocked lock on it, and watched its front lights turn on, lighting up the back casino parking lot.
Dude, I think I'm in love.
"Auuuaaughhhh~!" squealed. "Oh my Gooooood~!"
I looked back at Karl to see his reaction to the absolute beaut we were about to ride on. I could now make out his face with the car's light. He was clearly impressed, with his mouth slightly open, and an eyebrow raised. Apart from that, he didn't show much else enthusiasm.
Practically right after he'd made his deal with Owen, we got straight to business. Owen gave us a cell phone to share. I'd be stoked about this if it weren't for the fact that I had to share it with someone, and that it was locked on the "contacts" screen whenever you turned it on. And of course, the one "contact" on it was Owen. He didn't even leave his name on it, it was just titled "C2". Worst of all, Karl had his own phone too! Like, wouldn't it make more sense to just put his number on that?
After all that, Owen handed Karl the remote to our new sports car. Our form of transportation to this "Pelenibiza" guy's house apparently. I still don't get how he doesn't just teleport us in his house, he's done far crazier with his Stand. Better yet, why doesn't he just teleport all the guys he wants us to kill in front of a meat grinder? I guess I can't complain, though. Without him I won't ever be getting mad rich.
He then walked us down to that Spirit Road or whatever he called it, and gave Karl a credit card to cover the party's expenses.
But what surprised me the most out of all the things Owen gave us (or, Karl, much better said. I don't think he trusts me) was a fucking gun! Like, a glock. It wasn't fully loaded, though. It held like, six shots, I think?
"Under the rare circumstance where you're backed into a corner, and cannot rely on your abilities, use this." Is what I believe he said.
Another weird thing I noticed was that he did not inform Karl on Blackjacks or whatnot. Hell, if i recall correctly, he didn't even tell Karl he was facing off against another dude with a Stand!
Well, I don't think that's what I should have my attention on. What I should have my mind on is this BEAUTIFUL FUCKING CAR!
I ran up to the shotgun seat, yanked the door open, and jumped on to the seat, staring at the dashboard in delight. Karl soon followed, and sat himself in the driver's seat beside me.
Oh, tonight is gonna be so fucking-
A vibrating noise came from one of Karl's pockets. Ah, that can only mean one thing.
Karl whipped out the phone Owen gave us. Sure enough, "C2" was calling us.
"Bah, gimmie that!" I snatched the phone from Karl.
The phone vibrated on my hands as I tried to figure out what to do next. "Swipe up to respond?" I read the bold letters on the bright green background. Alright, fine, I can do that.
I think this triggered the call. The screen went from a vibrant color to a dark screen with the caption "C2" and a bunch of other buttons.
"Yo, yo, what the fuck is it? We're about to leave!" I shouted into where I thought the microphone would be.
I heard static come out of the phone. There was some background noise I couldn't quite make out.
"Huh-Huh?! Who is this?!" Some weird voice said through the phone.
