The sunlight beams on me as the trailer door remains open. I hear footsteps run over to me. Then I feel arms surround me.
"Whoa whoa what's wrong?" Kit. Fuck.
Well done Libby.
He holds me tight and I feel even more sad than I did before. "Why are you crying? Did I do something wrong? Was the kiss awful? Oh fuck the kiss was bad wasn't it?!"
I scoff silently while wiping my tears. "No no, it's just me being stupid." I reply. his face fades to nothing.
"Libby if I'm a shit kisser tell me please."
"Shut up, the kiss was great- not like- you know wha- ugh."
"I know what you mean idiot. Come on, let's get you home." On the way back to Yaz's car I reassure Kit that the kiss was not horrible, he still doesn't believe me.
Yaz could see that I had been crying but I just shake my head and she immediately knows.
"I'll text you Libby, I promise." I nod and hug him tightly.
I know he thinks it was his fault so as my head tucked into his neck I whisper into his ear muffledly "And I promise you it is not your fault." I feel him hug me tighter and I almost cry again. Then I get in the car and Yaz drives home.
