ruby waited patiently as she sat inside a coffee shop. earlier that day, she had called weiss to meet her up at their local coffee shop. the bell chimed indicating a customer has just stepped foot into the shop.
"weiss!" ruby exclaimed, waving her hand to signal the white-haired girl where she is.
weiss checked her surroundings and spotted ruby. weiss walked up to the table before sitting down.
"you came!" ruby smiled.
"...yeah." wiess responded, "so why did you call me here?"
"uhm, well..." ruby started with an awkward smile, "all I've ever been told about is the colors of the world, and how mesmerizing they are. but nobody ever told me how amazing it was to meet your soulmate..."
weiss's cheeks turned red as she looked to the side, "dolt, don't say that..."
"but i'm serious! i've been wanting to meet my soulmate since forever, and i'm glad i bumped into you."
weiss couldn't help but smile at ruby, "well, i'm glad i met you too, dolt." ruby smiled back at weiss.
"weiss... can i tell you something?" ruby asked as her cheeks turned red.
"what is it?"
ruby hesitated for a moment before continuing, "...i love you."
weiss face burned red as she closed her eyes, "d-dolt! don't say that aloud." she mumbled.
ruby pouted a bit, "awe..."
weiss opened one eye before sighing, "w-well whatever and... i-i love you too, dolt."
ruby's eyes lit up as she smiled brightly and giggled. meanwhile, weiss's eyes softened a bit as a small smile curved on her lips.
it was a small moment between the two of them. two people inside a coffee shop of all places, enjoying each other's company, nothing more. truth be told, they were both uncertain, they didn't know what to do. after all, what does one do when they meet the person that's going to impact the rest of their life?
they were soulmates and they're fine with that.
