Prologue,
"ANYA, I'M SCARED. I'M SO, SO SCARED"

FLAMES grew everywhere in the village. black smoke filled the air and young childrens lungs as they fled their homes in a hurry.

Parents were whimpering weakly as they continued to try and take out the fire with buckets of water. it was useless.

Mothers did their best to cover the faces of their children.

Evangeline gasped out loudly as she was awoken to someone shaking her harshly, "come ona!" the person shouted.(come on.) of course, Eve was confused but looked around her room as a unfamiliar smell filled her nostrils.

The girl had no time to speak as she was pulled straight out of bed roughly, "we have to get out of here," Evangeline finally recognised who this person was. Anya.

Anya was quick to kick open the door and run out with Evangeline sharp behind. "what.. what's going on?" the girl asked quietly as she looked around and watched children run around crying for their parents.

"there's no time to explain" Anya stated as she came to a halt and bent down to pick up two buckets, "come on, help me," Evangeline nodded as she took one.

Evangeline tried to ignore the small pecks of ashes that fell from the sky and rushed to her home quickly.

Her heart broke at the sight of her burning home. how the did this happen? "Lincoln! we're going to need some help!" Anya shouted desperately as she followed Evangeline.

SPLASH. SPLASH. SPLASH.

Eventually, some people helped Anya and Evangeline take out the huge fire. the flames didn't seem to want to go out. it was almost impossible to do.

Just a few hours ago, Evangeline was training with a few young girls before she returned home and decided to take a quick nap.

She didn't expect to wake up to see the village burning. her home.

"where am i going to go?" Evangeline asked herself as she stood in front of her burnt home with a empty bucket in her hand, "that was my home,"

Lincoln sighed sadly as he stopped beside her and sat a hand on her shoulder, "we will figure something out," he whispered, trying his best to comfort her.

Evangeline stared at her home sadly as she nodded, "yeah,"

"Eve," Anya called out as she jogged towards her friend concerned. both, Lincoln and Evangeline turned around, "Anya," the girl muttered as she threw her arms around her tensed shoulders.

The sound of horses neighing and metal clashing together is what broke the pair apart, "Anya, what happened?" Lexa asked as she stopped in front of her with a harden glare.

Anya dropped her arms to her side to face the commander, "i'm not sure," she confessed confidently, "but some said that they seen something in the sky,"

Lexa raised her chin as she looked around at the empty homes in thought, "what are we going to do, heda?" Lincoln asked as he carefully approached her.

"nothing," Lexa said as her hand rested on her sword, "we do not know what we're facing," she stated.

"but heda, we could gather some warriors and check it ou-" the brunette was quick to cut Indra off, "you do as i say," Lexa growled through gritted teeth.

Indra clenched her jaw shut and lowered her head in defeat, "Anya, Lincoln, help the ones who no longer have no homes," Lexa proceeded to say.

Anya nodded, "and for the dead?" Lincoln asked as he watched their people cry over dead bodies, "gather their bodies and we will send them off properly,"

"shall the dead be avenged, heda?" Indra asked carefully as she looked at their commander, "it shall," Lexa said lowly.

Evangeline grabbed Anya's arm gently and pulled her along with her, "Anya i do not know what to do," she whispered as tears slowly fell down her face.

"i'm scared. i'm so, so scared," Anya frowned lightly as she held Evangeline's face softly and wiped the tears away, "it's going to be alright, everything will be fine,"

"warriors do not cry," Anya said lowly as she pulled Evangeline close to her until their foreheads touched.

Nevertheless, Evangeline's bottom lip trembled as she nodded her head, "warriors do not cry" she repeated.
