"ANYA DID NOT TRAIN ME, SHE FOUND ME. I TRAINED MYSELF, I TAUGHT MYSELF EVERYTHING I KNOW"

"YOU have to take good care of it. change it every few hours and keep it clean," Nyko instructed as he stood back onto his feet with a cloth that was drenched in black blood.

Evangeline gave Nyko a soft smile as he started to gather all of his medical objects, "mochof," she said. (thank you)

Nyko looked up from the sink and gave her a polite nod before throwing the cloth away, "Heda, why are you here?" the two heard someone ask from outside of the room.

"no need to ask such questions, Evangeline is in there, yes?" she asked with a stern voice, "yes, of course. Nyko is helping her with her wound,"

"here," Nyko said as he approached Evangeline with an small bottle of weird looking liquid, "what is that?" she asked quietly as she gently took it from his fingers.

"it'll help whenever you need to sleep," he stated as he picked up his small bag of medicines, "i'm sure i won't need it, but thank you, again," Evangeline awkwardly said.

"Evangeline," the girls small head looked up from the bottle, "Heda," she greeted as she squeezed her not so wounded hand into a fist.

Lexa looked at Nyko with her hand rested on her sword, "thank you Nyko, but i'll take it from here," she said with her chin raised.

Nyko shared a glance with Evangeline before he nodded and took off, "please close the door on your way out," Lexa called out as she turned her head to watch the man leave.

Evangeline lowered her head and began to take the cork out, "what is that?" she heard Lexa ask as the door closed.

The girl didn't bother to look at Lexa as the responded, "medicine. Nyko says,"

"warriors don't need medicine," Lexa stated lowly as she slowly approached the wounded girl, "they do," Evangeline bit back calmly, "all of us warriors do,"

The commander was amazed how Evangeline spoke to her. it was like she wasn't scared of her. and the girl wasn't.

"i'm sorry for the wound," Lexa apologised as she took a seat next to Evangeline on the small single bed.

Evangeline turned to look at Lexa, "it's no problem," she said as she threw her head back and gulped back the liquid in one whole swallow.

"i'll just add it to my other scars," she stated proudly as she looked back down and sat the empty bottle next to her.

Lexa looked at Evangeline. properly looked at her.

She watched as Evangeline's auburn hair fell into her face as she moved in certain places. she watched as the corner of her lips lifted as she spoke.

"Anya did good training you,"

Evangeline clenched her jaw at the comment as she turned to look Lexa deep in her dark eyes, "Anya did not train me, she found me. i trained myself, i taught myself everything i know,"

"your a natblida," Lexa stated, ignoring what Evangeline said, "how come i never knew about you? why weren't you at the conclave?" the auburn chuckled as she sniffed harshly.

"my mom was a bastard," she spat as she looked up and stared at nothing, "she hid me. they never found me but they found her" she whispered.

Lexa's lips parted, obviously not expecting such a thing as she stared at the side of Evangeline's face.

"my dad found me a couple hours after. I was hidden underneath the house, it felt like i was under there for hours," Evangeline explained as she felt tears build up behind her eyes but she refused to cry.

The room was quiet for a couple seconds before Lexa spoke, "you never found whoever killed her,"

"no," Evangeline quickly responded as she shook her head and turned to look at Lexa, "once my dad died, Anya found me days later. Indra and Lincoln were with her,"

Evangeline bit her tongue as she realised what the look was that Lexa was giving her. pity. Lexa took pity on her.

The brunette's lips parted to speak but quickly closed it as the door swung open, "Heda, everyone has agreed to speak about the plans tomorrow morning,"

Lexa gave him a nod as she stood onto her feet with tensed shoulders, "thank you. i'll be in the throne room soon, please leave,"

The girl with the wounded hand stood onto her feet too as Lexa slowly walked to the door, "there is something that i and a few others are discussing tomorrow, i'd like it if you were there too,"

Evangeline nodded as Lexa reached for the door knob and turned to look at her, "i'll be there," she said.

The commander nodded softly with a small smile as she opened the door and closed it behind her. Evangeline found herself smiling sadly as she lowered her head.
