CHAPTER FOUR
_________________________

"TRIKRU, IS MY HOME"

"I can't let you do this," Lincoln said as he followed Evangeline all the way to her room, "i made my choice," the girl replied as she grabbed her sword that sat in the far corner.

"but it isn't your choice to make," Lincoln said grabbing her arm, "yes it is!" the girl snapped as she snatched her arm back, "it's my decision to make Lincoln, not yours,"

Lincoln frowned as Evangeline's chest rised up and down, "or yours," she suddenly spat, looking at Anya who stood at the door.

"i'll fight you if that is what it takes to make you stay," Anya said, reaching for her sword.

"I can take you," Evangeline threatened as she tightened her grip on her own, "hey, we can't do this!" Lincoln shouted as he stood in the middle of the pair with his hand on both of their chests, stopping them. "not now,"

Evangeline clenched her jaw as Anya glared at her, "we can't let our friend do this. she'll die," she hissed.

"yes yous both can, yous just have to let her,"

The three friends looked at the door quickly to see Lexa standing there with Titus stood behind her.

"you mean let her die?" Anya asked before she shook her head, "i'm not letting her go out alone and die,"

"i can't let her leave with anyone else, Anya. it's to much of a risk," Lexa stated quietly, "her life will be at risk," Lincoln stated as he stood in front of Evangeline.

Lexa sighed, "i can't let her stay. she's told me that she is willing to sacrifice her life for her people. if she was to stay in Tondc a lot of people will see her as weak,"

Everyone who stood in the room became quiet.

"Evangeline, i think it is best if you were to say your goodbyes. i need you to leave soon," Lexa suddenly said making Lincoln tense.

Anya was quick to put her sword back into her sheath and walk out without a word. Lexa stepped aside to let her leave as she gave Lincoln and Evangeline a nod before leaving herself.

"Lincoln," Evangeline said, ready to argue with him again if he continued to try and stop her.

Lincoln turned around and pulled Evangeline into a hug which surprised her as she held her sword in her hand, "if you were to be caught don't let them break you,"

Evangeline nodded as he pulled away and looked down at her with shaking hands, "don't let them break you," he repeated.

The girl nodded again as she fought back tears.

The man gulped as he dropped his arms to his side and turned to return back to his room. Evangeline gave him a reassuring smile as he turned to glance at her.

Eventually Lincoln had left and Evangeline was left alone standing in the middle of her room.

A small whimper escaped from in between her lips as she slipped her sword into her sheath and looked around.

She wouldn't miss it, knowing she has only been here for about a week. but she did miss her home.

With a heavy sigh, she dragged herself to the otherside of the room and closed the door behind her.

Anya was quick to throw herself at her and wrap her arms around Evangeline's neck gently, "this isn't the end," Anya whispered as she felt her friend hug her back.

"we'll meet again," Anya mumbled as she pulled away and looked her friend in her eyes, "your gonplei ste nou odon," (your fight is not over)

Evangeline chuckled, "your goddamn right it isn't,"
