Getting Better (Silver POV)

I was so happy. My dad. My actual dad. Loved me.

I smiled softly against his chest as he brought me inside and sat on the couch with me still in his arms.

"So. How did it go?" Sonic asked as he walked in.

"Amy is back on my shit list." Shadow no. Dad grunted.

"Oof. Well. Are you atleast feeling better?" Sonic questioned.

"Yeah. Alittle." Dad admitted.

"Yeah. I think the worst of it has past."  I said happily.

"Good." Sonic smiled.

I smiled back before snuggling close to my dad.

My dad pat my back and I fell asleep.

I woke up a few hours later to Sonic and dad talking.

"Shadow. You know your gonna have to move into town right?" Sonic said.

Dad growled.

"I know but.. Eggman has a way to beat your alien side. It's dangerous for you to live alone now." Sonic told dad seriously.

"Eggman doesn't scare me." Dad snapped.

"But what about your son?" Sonic asked.

"If Eggman ever lays another finger on my son again.. I will kill him." Dad snarled.

Sonic just sighed.

"I still think you should move." Sonic grumbled.

"I am not leaving my home." Dad said simply.

"Your home is literally just a cave." Sonic huffed.

"Perhaps but it's my cave." Dad told Sonic.

I finally decided to interrupt and I yawned and stretched.

I then opened my eyes to see my dad smile at me softly.

I smiled back and then I looked over at Sonic who was standing in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room.

"I'm hungry." I told Sonic since he was closer to the kitchen.

Sonic chuckled but nodded.

"What do you want?" Sonic asked.

I shrugged.

"Not sure. My old dad always made me pancakes and eggs with bacon on the side." I told Sonic.

"Metal Sonic made your food?" Dad asked.

I nodded.

"Yeah! He cut my nails and bathed me too." I grinned.

"I'm gonna miss him. He was the only one who was actually nice to me." I said sadly.

"Yeah. Well. I'm here now and I promise to do my very best to take care of you." Dad said firmly.

I beamed and hugged him.

"Well. I'm going to make eggs and sausage." Sonic decided.

Me and dad both nodded.

I was quiet after.

Honestly I was just content to have a dad.

We ate and then dad decided that it was time to go since he apparently didn't want to spend more time with Sonic than was necessary.

Which confused me but okay.

Sonic still thought that we should move into town but dad was adamant about staying in his cave which is what lead us here.

Infront of a cave. In the middle of nowhere.

I snorted.

"I know Sonic said you lived in a cave but.. Really?" I whined.

"You get used to it. Trust me." Shadow told me honestly before walking inside and curling up in a bed of moss.

Yeah no.

Nope.

Nada.

I was not living in a cave.

I wasn't a animal!

"Yeah. No. Can we go back and accept Sonic's offer and get a house now?" I asked.

What I got in response was a flash of red eyes from the darkness.

"No. I do not want to be within five feet of your mother." Dad growled.

"Okay but like. This is unacceptable." I grunted.

"If you are afraid of spiders or bugs just remember that they are great protein and you kill them before they even get close to hurting you." Shadow huffed.

I had honestly forgotten about spiders and bugs.

"NOPE! I'm going back to society." I yipped before walking back the way we came.

Dad groaned before following me.

I didn't even look at him before using my telekinesis to fly out of reach just in case.

It took me twelve minutes but I got back into town.

"Sonic!" I called loudly before landing infront of his house.

Sonic immediately opened the door and looked at me and dad in surprise.

"Is the whole offer to live here still open?" I asked curiously.

"Of course." Sonic smiled.

"Awesome." I grinned.

Dad sighed behind me.

"I can't believe I'm doing this." Dad groaned.

"Well. It's either that or I go back to my uncle. Seriously. I refuse to live the life of some cave cretin." I huffed.

"You would actually go back to eggman to not live in a cave?" Dad asked in shock.

I nodded.

"I know you aren't but I'm civilized dad. I don't do my business outside or sleep on moss. I mean.. Eww..." I said with a genuine shudder.

Dad snorted.

"Well. I'm glad you guys are moving into town. Seriously now I don't have to worry. Now come on." Sonic smiled.

We followed him to a blue house and dad rolled his eyes.

"Sonic. Isn't this your house?" Dad asked.

"Yeah but honestly? I spend more time at Tails these days anyways. Not to mention. Yall need it more than I do. I can easily move my stuff to Tails house and sleep in the guest room." Sonic said.

I nodded.

"Thankyou Sonic. Now come on." I told my dad.

My dad just glared at me but complied.

Sonic left after.

Dad then went back to his cave to get some things and that was that.

Too say the least.

I was pleased to have a home, a dad and a life again.
