It had been almost eighty years since the Sinclair family had arrived in New Orleans as far as Marcel and any other supernatural being was aware the sibling were just regular normal vampires without an inch of witch blood in them.

The Sinclairs didn't like the witches of the quarter; they were conniving and sly although, Rory did like davina a young girl with a lively spirit and a kind heart.

The siblings had settled down into a normal life which neither of them had ever thought they would do.

At times Ivy missed Freya the mysterious girl who had stolen her heart many years ago, maybe she was holding onto the past but she was sure she was still alive.

Then there was Dylan who missed Elizabeth Claire dearly but, he had learnt to let go for if she really had wanted to survive she would have done so. Now she was an old friend who he had lost due to the unjust rulings of society.

Lastly there was Rory, she liked their large house,
although, her main concern wasn't the space in which they resided but the fact that Emilia was pregnant and had given Rory back the pendant.

Because of this Emilia would now age like a normal person. Having been stuck at age 20 for the past three hundred years. It was quite scary for Rory knowing that her daughters life was like glass; easily shattered.

But it was not Rory's place to judge nor decide how Emilias fate should be so all she now cared about was making sure Emilia and the baby stayed safe.

There were only a few words Rory could use to describe her life at the moment.

And at the top of at that list you would find the word lacklustre.

Emilia was now six months pregnant and there had been no inconveniences, there were no new people Rory had visited every single shop in New Orleans at least 15 times. She once knew great kings and queens of old, now she sits on her leather arm chair in front of the fire reading books about said things.

However that boredom would explain to Rory why she decided to go hiking near New Orleans. Her life seemed lacking until she heard a scream, at this she vamp sped towards the sound to find herself in the midst of a werewolf fighting against hunters.

She was going to step in and help the woman but given the way the wolf snapped one's neck before impaling the other one on a tree branch she knew she could handle herself.

Once the sudden danger appeared to be gone the girl scanned her surroundings only to lock eyes with Rory.

"Relax I'm not here to harm you, I'm Rory" she said as she held out her hand for the werewolf to shake, said werewolf looked deeply into Rory's eyes to see if she could be trusted and she knew she could.

"I'm Hayley" she smiled warmly at the heretic

"Nice to meet you Hayley, now what brings you out here" Hayley now having trust in the stranger began to tell her about how she was going to meet a vampire who would tell her about her birth parents if they were to make a deal.

"Well I'll stay here and make sure no one else briers you whilst you go and make your bargain" Rory told her, Hayley more than happy to oblige began to make her way to the spot where the vampire wished to meet.

When Hayley was out of view Rory felt a presence near her and soon after an arrow came whistling towards but her reflexes were sharp enough that sense it so she caught it before it could impale her. She smirked as three more people made their way into the clearing.
