Extended summary
Growing up the mikealson children were often told stories by their mother about a small yet powerful coven who would sacrifice their elders so that three of the children whom were born into the coven could possess powerful abilities, each child would listen doe eyed, enthralled as their mother would explain what marvellous creations they could make, but none listened so intently as Niklaus Mikealson, he knew he had to meet one only it did not happen as soon as he expected nor did it happen the way he expected it.

On June 22nd, 1456 Rory Sinclair was born, in 1458 Dylan Sinclair was born and in 1462 Ivy Sinclair was born these three were specially chosen by their coven to possess magical abilities, Rory was given the ability to create energy, manipulate matter and telekinesis. Ivy was given elemental control, and Dylan was given the gift of foresight, healing abilities and illusion manipulation.
and in forty years they would be killed to once again bequeath new extraordinary gifts to three other children only the coven died, Due to unknown circumstances which would later come to haunt the Sinclair trio, but at the time they were left to fend on their own. Only a few weeks after the loss of their coven they happened across a vampire by the name Lucien, he turned them thinking he could control them, although he did not know they were witches, and unbeknownst to him he created the first heretics. Using his powers Dylan wiped his mind of him ever encountering the Sinclair siblings. Given their new abilities they fled. After many years of experiencing new and exciting cultures the three heretics settled down in New Orleans in 1935 where they met marcel Gerard who welcomed them with open arms. Of course the three immortals continued to travel but they always ended up back in New Orleans. So when Rory gets a call from her friend who is trying to find her parents she knows she must help, and yet when she travels out to the bayou all that remains of her friend is a burnt map and broken down car.
