The devil works fast

The next morning Jin woke up and looked outside, it was raining, he hates rain. Sighing he wished he could stay in bed and not having to go to the office. He had prepared the resignation letter and has already spoken with uncle Haeun, about coming back to work for him again. Of course Haeun was more then happy to have Jin back.

Hearing Jin's tired voice, Haeun was worried about him. Something must've had happened, he thought. Bangtan never lets people go just like that but knowing that asking would be futile, he didn't. Jin would tell him when he felt the right time. He just prayed that Jin was able to stay away from the Bangtan community.

Jungkook didn't go to the office. He stayed home, he needed to clear his thoughts. Feeling extremely tired due to the immense amount of anger that occupied his body, never leaving. He was furious how Jin spoke to him and called him an empty shell.

He thought about his feelings towards the other, he knew Jin could be someone to spend the rest of his life with. But was it because he loves him, or because of the possibilities, having a Nephilim by his side. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes. Memories of their lovemaking popped up in his mind and to say he wasn't effected by them, would be a big lie. Also images of Jin's face from yesterday appeared. He could've sworn, just for a second, there was disappointment in the other's eyes, when he saw Lisa sitting on his lap.

Not hundred percent sure about his own feelings, Jungkook knew one thing for sure, if he gave Jin time to think, the chances of loosing him for good were big. It was important to remind Jin of their time together, not allowing their feelings for each other to extinguish. That meant he had to act fast, before Jin could slip away.

He called Namjoon and Jimin over and congratulated them on their relationship, he asked for their further plans. After listening to them, he suggested to go away for a week, all together, like little holidays. Knowing exactly Jimin wouldn't go anywhere without Jin, he smirked when he saw how enthusiastic Jimin was with the idea. Yup the devil works fast.

Jin was surprised, when he came to the office and heard that Jungkook wasn't there. 'Maybe he's celebrating his engagement with Lisa, the future Mrs Jeon' he thought and rolled his eyes. He was about to give his resignation letter, pack his stuff and leave this place for good. When all of a sudden he heard Taehyung's voice, "Jin what a pleasant surprise, I didn't thought you would be here today" he said giving a bear hug to a startled Jin. Wondering why the other is hugging him and if Jungkook told him what happened yesterday, Jin just froze.

"Jin are you ok, you look tired, why did you come today" Taehyung asked. Jin, got brought back from his thoughts, looking at Tae, 'he really doesn't seem to know'. Clearing his throat and putting the resignation letter back into his pocket, he opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out.

"You know, I'm actually happy that you came" Taehyung said and pulled Jin to follow him to his office. Jin wasn't sure what the other wanted but he followed him.

As both were now seated in Taehyung's office, he spoke with a big smile, "you surely know that your best friend Jimin and my brother Namjoon made their relationship official." Taehyung looked at Jin, who just nodded with his head. Taehyung chuckled and continued, "Namjoon is such an romantic, he planned for them one week in Hawaii. We own a holiday house there and my stupid brother plans to propose." Hearing that Jin's eyes widened, 'wasn't that a little bit too fast, they know each other, what, few months.' Exhaling, he also knew that he should be happy for Jimin but he wasn't. He was sad, knowing he's loosing his best friend.

Not receiving any response from Jin, Taehyung arched a brow, feeling this conversation very one-sided, nevertheless he continued, "but as you know your stubborn best friend, he doesn't want to go without you. Of course he doesn't know anything about Namjoon's plan to propose...ahhh...that's so complicated" Taehyung buried his face in his hands. Hearing that Jimin doesn't want to go without him, made Jin smile and just like that some of his worries vanished in thin air. Feeling much better, he stood up and pulled out the resignation letter, handing it over to Taehyung, who acted surprised.

Happy he didn't have much stuff to pack, everything fitted in a small box. When he said his goodbyes to Mrs Fee and the other workers, Yoongi and Hoseok came.

"You wanted to leave, without saying goodbye" said Hoseok faking to be hurt. Jin smiled at him and gave him a hug. Yoongi asked Jin to have a word, in his office. Having a curious nature Jin followed.

"Would you like a coffee, tea or water" asked an obviously nervous Yoongi and gestured him to take a seat. Jin shook his head, as a no, as he sat down, wondering why was it so difficult for him to speak. Was he so sad to leave? He shook the thoughts off and looked back at Yoongi.

Yoongi gave him his gummy smile and asked, "will you go back to work for Hart and Partners?" Jin found Yoongi an bad actor, it was obvious that wasn't the reason he wanted to speak with him. But he himself being today somehow 'tongue-tired' he just nodded with his head. Hearing his phone buzzing, receiving a message, Yoongi looked at it and stood up, he said, "so, this means a goodbye. It would been an honor to be your friend Jin." Surprised to hear that, Jin looked Yoongi in the eyes and could see that the other meant what he just said. Giving him a smile, Jin finally spoke, "I would like that very much" before bowing and leaving the office.

Exiting the elevator, Jin bowed and waived to the women, who were working at the reception when someone blocked his way. Turning, he was met with an angry looking Jungkook.

Taking the little box out of Jin's hands Jungkook ordered, "follow me!"

"I, I'm not working here anymore, you can't order me around" Jin said and the people around stopped to look at them. Jungkook totally taken aback asked, "when did I ever ordered you around? Or, when have you ever followed my orders?" Grabbing Jin's hand Jungkook pulled him out of the building. Seeing all the stares from the other employees, Jin just followed, not wanting to make a scene.

A sports car was parked in front of the building, Jungkook opend the door, still holding Jin's box in one hand, he said, "get in!" Like always, hating the other's tone, he was about to refuse but when he saw people taking out their phones and began to film them, he quickly got in and closed the door.

"Where are we going" asked Jin, not recognizing the road. Jungkook took a deep breath and stayed quiet. After 15 more minutes, they left the city and drove a narrow road up a little hill. Stoping the car and turning off the engine. Jin looked around, there was nothing, except few trees on both sides and a view on the Han river. Jin wanted badly get out of the car but the weather god wasn't on his side, it just kept raining.

"What are we doing here" asked an obviously nervous Jin. Turning his full attention towards him, Jungkook just stared at him.

"Shouldn't you be here with Lisa, the future Mrs Jeon" Jin blurred out, totally frustrated with the other's behavior. Jungkook chuckled, "so, you are jealous" he said with a grin. A grin that Jin would've loved to slap away.

"Why should I be jealous, you never had feelings for me, it was Seth" Jungkook grabbed the back of Jin's head and pulled him closer, connecting their lips. Surprised, Jin didn't wanted to respond to the kiss but his own lips betrayed him and moved in sync with Jungkook's. After a while they broke apart, foreheads pushed together, Jungkook whispered, "please don't mention this name." They stayed like this for few more minutes before Jungkook broke the silence, "I'll drive you home, pack some clothes and your passport, we're flying to Hawaii tomorrow." Rolling his eyes Jin said, "who gives you the right ordering me around. Would it be so bad, once, just once to ask me instead." Taking a deep breath, Jungkook thought how much easier his life would be, if he chose Lisa instead of Jin. But looking into Jin's eyes, he also knew he could never choose someone else. He exhaled and asked, "Jin would you fly with me to Hawaii, tomorrow, please?"

"Of course not" replied Jin and Jungkook rolled his eyes at his behavior. "But it's not about you and me, it's about Jimin and Namjoon, so I will go" he finished with a grin.
