mike stared off into the cloudy blue sky avoiding eye contact with will as he undressed. he lifted the edge of his white tee and pulled it over his head, instantly regretting his decision. mike turned around to watch will who was signaling argyle to do an underwater flip. mike smiled at will's enthusiasm and unbuckled his jean belt dropping it on the rocky sand.

"you take such a long time, hurry up!" will groaned gesturing to the perfect green lake ahead of them. he wanted to be closer to mike and swimming seemed like an excuse for that.

"you don't have to wait for me ya know" mike commented wanting will to look away while he took off his jeans. it's not that they haven't seen each other in super hero underwear before, but they were older now.

"mkay fine" will took careful steps around the big stones and headed for splashing argyle.

mike let out a relieved sigh and pulled down his jeans. he felt so bare, too bare. he crossed his arms covering his middle and made his way into the rippling lake.

"cmon mike! i know it feels like you're about to get hypothermia right about now, but it feels great once you get deeper." will swam towards mike standing up to face him in the shallow end. he held out his hands awkwardly. mike gulped and looked back as if someone was watching them. he turned back to will and set his hands atop of them.

will guided him deeper as mike sucked in breaths. the ice water was right above his abdomen making him shiver. "this does not feel good will" mike looked up at the boy with slightly stern eyes shaking at the temperature.

will smiled at mike's suffering a thought popping into his head. "are you ready?"

"huh? for wha-" will yanked mike's hands pulling him fully under the cold water. when he finally surfaced mike gave a very cold stare. "no, i was not ready."

"but now you're warmer" will teased splashing mike slightly making him flinch.

"it's still cold though" mike said as he treaded the water doggy paddle style.

"weren't you just complaining about how hot it was." will lifted his eyebrows.

mike furrowed his brows and began to swim into the shore.

"hey! wait, where are you going?"

mike smirked to himself as he ran to grab the zebra floaty. "no where"

"hey! no fair i called dibs" will put both hands on his hips like he was steve harrington or something.

"didn't you say we could take turns?" mike teased coming back into the cool water.

will rolled his eyes with a smile plastered onto his face. "fine then"

mike grinned while struggling to get atop of the striped floaty.

"looks like you're having some trouble there." will mocked laughing under his breath.

"hush" mike stared at will still unable to pull his leg over the animal.

will blushed and continued watching his friend trip over the poor zebra. "can i try?"

mike deadpanned at will before considering "sure, but i'm telling you it's impossible." he shrugged pushing the floaty through the water towards will.

"mkay" will smiled, effortlessly throwing both his legs over each side of the floaty lying his head back on the face of the zebra.

"... how?" mike was more in awe than frustrated which made will sink deeper into the floaty.

"i'm just that good at... being flexible."

mike rolled his eyes and swam toward will creating a line of bubbles and splashes behind him. he snuck over the side of the floaty and pulled on will's leg.
