Steve had brought an apartment in Brooklyn after the assemble of the Avengers. He had asked S.H.I.E.L.D. about it before the incident because he hadn't anywhere to stay. So Fury allowed it.

There was another plus as well. Recently Steve had been involved with a mission on which a missing person from over 70 years ago, was involved. The mission ended in a success when that said missing person, was brought to S.H.I.E.L.D. and was then told to stay with Steve. He now stays under Steve's close watch, like an eagle.

"Bucky! Are you awake?" Steve called towards Bucky's room. He always had lay ins. However Steve was quite the morning person. "I'm going out for a run. Are you going to join me?" There was a thud from Bucky's room as Steve predicted that he had just rolled or fell out of bed.

Moments later Steve was all ready for his run, with Bucky quickly throwing on some jogging bottoms and a tank top. Then he made sure his messy brown hair wasn't in his face while he laced up his shoes. He stood up and gave Steve an 'i'm all ready to go' grin. Then they exited the flat and Steve locked the door behind them.

They lightly jogged down the streets, which were barren and silent. No one else was awake yet and so made it easier for their jog. People had seen the destruction of the Winter soldier and always had fear in their eyes whenever Bucky passed. He never wanted this to happen, but the past can't be undone.

They jogged to an open park, where they slowed to a gentle stroll. Steve had been trying to help Bucky with his memories every jog they went on.
"So Buck, do you have anything you want to share?" Steve looked to Bucky who was staring off into the distance. The sky was a light pink merging into a dark blue.
"........I can remember parts of when we were back home, but then they just fade out. For instance, I remember walking with you, when you weren't so 'Captain America' but I don't remember anything we said. Other times I remember what we said but then the memory just cuts off. It really bugs me sometimes. I begin to get an image and remember who I am, but then it disappears."

"Well I know who you are. Bucky Barnes, my best friend who has always been there for me. Well apart from that short period of time where you uh, tried to kill me. But you're still my best friend." Steve finished with a smile. Bucky crossed his arms and turned to Steve.
"I'm your only friend, that's why." Bucky replied with a raised eyebrow and a smirk. Steve returned a grin and a slight chuckle. They carried on their stroll through the park and jogged the rest of the way home.

They managed to uncover a new or part of a memory at least once a week. This continued on for every morning for a few years, before they were called on missions.

They had been on missions with Natasha and Clint as well, but hadn't heard much from them since then. Thor hadn't turned up much either, probably because of some business in Asgard. They always knew that the Avengers would assemble again, but not when..

Sorry these two chapter were a bit brief, but they were just to explain what had happened during all this time as stuff :) I hope you enjoyed them though!
