Yesterday was just what I needed, for the first time in a month I'm going to work in a good mood.

And to make sure it doesn't get ruined on the way there I'm going to blast some really happy music into my ears the entire way there.

Getting splashed by a bus isn't going to put a damper on my mood when my music is so happy.

Nothing is going to kill my happy vibe.

Oh what's that? crackheads are making a commotion on my train, not gonna ruin my day.

My ex going on a shopping spree with the girl he cheated on me with? not gonna- wait what?

That piece of shit. You know what, it's not gonna ruin my vibe.

Look at her, she's too weak and frail to survive in his world. They'll kill her off in no time.

Oh to see the look on his face when that happens.

Oh shoot I almost missed my stop, good luck girly your gonna need it.

Once I got into my company's section of the building I turned off my music. I made it to work with my mood still intact, that deserves a medal.

I made my way to my desk whistling, no care in the world ready to tackle the day.

I could see the shocked expressions on my coworkers faces. I don't blame them, they probably think hell froze over or something.

"Hey guys, isn't it just the most wonderful day today?"

".... Who are you and what did you do to Brook?"

"Hey, is that anyway to talk to your co-worker? Who is a position higher than you. "

"No but..this isn't you. You're never happy at work. Well you don't arrive here happy."

"Well today is just different."

"You forced yourself to be happy didn't you?"

"...... Maybe. "

"B, you can't do that. It isn't healthy to just fake it. "

"Oh leave the girl alone Kate, if it makes her feel better in the morning then it's fine."

"You know for a manager you're really lacking in the 'make sure everyone is happy' aspect Dave. "

"Guys, can you just shut up and get to work? I may work in customer service but I would rather not use my skills on you guys."

".. Sorry."

"You heard her get back to work!"

"Dave... no, don't act like you did anything. We all know I basically do your job for you when it comes to getting everyone organised. "

"Everyone but the boss. I'd like to keep it that way. "

"Don't piss me off and you will. "

With that I turned and started to walk away from my personal group of crackheads.

"Great talk! See you around. "

Dave is something else, that's for sure. He can't manage the office for shit, I'm always doing his job for him.

People even thought we were dating at one point, he of course didn't deny anything instead he pleaded the fifth and made it even more suspicious. This made my already over protective boyfriend trust me even less. He is one of the reasons we broke up.

Pictures of me and Dave being drunk idiots got to him and he assumed the worst so he thought he'd give me some pay back only to find out that nothing happened.
