Chapter 24 Going back to the Devil Realm

"Let's find a place to stay in the Demon Kingdom, Milady," Sage said as they walked back to the city of the Demon Kingdom.

"Ugh, why didn't we do it earlier?" Zerha groaned. I'm tired.

"It is because you wanted to sneak into the castle first, Milady."

"You're right..."

Fortunately, the city of the Demon Kingdom was like that of the Haria Kingdom. Even though was already nighttime, it was still lively, with demons drinking and working. Some demons were also arm wrestling.

Hmm, they live normally just like humans. I thought that I would see demons eating human flesh or something. I thought they were creepy. I never expected them to be this normal.

Meanwhile in all demons pov's. "What do you take us for?! We are not zombies!"

"Milady, I think that is a residential house." Sage pointed to a medium-sized house.

"Let's try to ask if there are available rooms."

As they headed inside, they saw demons eating and drinking. They turned their gazes to Sage and Zerha as they walked inside, eyes skeptically appraising them. Others looked at them with curiosity.

Sage asked the owner of the inn if there were any available rooms.

"Yes, there are still a few." a demon in his forties replied.

"Then we would like to ask for two rooms. How much is it?" Zerha asked.

"Five hundred silver coins per night. Since you want to use two rooms, that will be one thousand silvers per night."

Zerha grabbed silver stones from her storage ring. I can't just pay using silver stones all the time. I should trade some of my silver stones to have coins. She thought as she handed the silver stones to the owner.

The owner was shocked to see silver stones in front of him. "D-Dear guest, I can't just accept this many silver stones..."

"I don't have any coins, though..."

"Ah, I know a trading center, dear guests. Do you want me to exchange these for coins?"

"Oh, thank you. Then please trade these gold stones as well." Zerha handed him some of her gold stones. The owner was even more shocked to see gold stones. He was wondering if Zerha was royalty, or if she was an adventurer since she had many precious stones. "Okay. Both of you can stay in the vacant room upstairs. You can just pay me tomorrow after I exchange them, dear guests."

"Thanks, then."

As Zerha and Sage headed upstairs, some of the demons looked at them with ill intentions.

"I will head to my room now, Milady."

"All right, rest well."

Zerha went straight to bed and slept. The three little wolves were beside her.

Meanwhile, Sage was sitting on his bed, recalling what happened earlier.

*FLASHBACK*

Not so long after Zerha left to sneak into the castle of the Demon Kingdom, a little demon popped out of nowhere in front of Sage. It had a small round body, a pair of small horns on its forehead, big red scary eyes, and sharp teeth. It came from the spatial magic of the demon who cast it from the Devil Realm. Sage suddenly felt nervous upon seeing it. He was thinking that seeing that little demon meant that he had been found.

The little demon began to convey the message in front of him. "My little son, why did you run away? Your mother and I are worried about you..."

Worried? That word coming from your mouth is despicable. He thought, staring coldly at the little demon.
