{A vision seen in sleep, a dream}

~Amethyst~

"What?" Draco and I spoke in unison.

Everyone's eyes were filled with regret, filled with sorrow and fear. We had friends at Hogwarts, we all did. The mere idea of him taking over the castle was more chilling than anything else. I was utterly lost for words. All I could do was stare at Hydrus with a gaping mouth.

"How?" Draco asked as he wrapped an arm around my waist.

Hydrus took in a deep breath, though he didn't speak. He just shook his head and rolled his jaw. I could see how angry he was, it was bleeding through his expression. I could feel Draco's hand on my hip, though I was numb. I couldn't believe what we were just told. It seemed all too surreal, none of us ever thought he would do something so drastic.

"You know Dumbledore is dead," Blaise started, "You know Jaz was the one to kill him."

Numb, everything was completely numb. Blaire was at Hogwarts, more and more people were still there. Hundreds of children slept and learnt at that school. A school that was meant to be safe, unbreakable.

"They raided the castle two nights ago, we only just got word of it now." Charlie spoke delicately, "They got rid of any professors who wouldn't comply, only a few remain now."

Why couldn't I feel anything? I couldn't think, I couldn't understand how such a thing could happen. Never in my nightmares did I think Hogwarts would become anything other than safe. I always believed it to be my home away from home. It was my safe space, away from my parents, away from the life I didn't want to live.

But it was gone now.

Hogwarts was nothing but a cage for those who remained. It was a trap filled with beasts and murderers, the worst kinds of Death Eaters. Our lives were forever changed, and we all knew we needed to do something.

Draco's grip on my waist only got tighter as the silence remained. Pansy's cries were silent, though her shoulders were still shaking. Ginny tried to calm her down, but with all the hormones she was producing, there was almost no chance of that ever happening. Charlie looked around the room, noticing how everyone was taking in the news. I watched as he walked over to his brother and placed a hand on his back.

He whispered something to Luis, something I couldn't hear. But by the look in Luis' eyes, I knew that it wasn't something to be happy about. Why would it be? We were just told that our second home had been ambushed. That there were children who would no doubt be getting tortured as we stood around and did nothing.

Sickness swelled within me, though I wouldn't let it slip. I swallowed and drew in steady breaths. I tried to focus on other things, but everything just kept crawling back to memories. Memories of our home, and new thoughts about what it was like now. If we had of gone back—we would have been forced to kill Dumbledore and take over the castle. If we had of gone back to Hogwarts, no one would have forgiven us.

"So what's the plan then?" I asked in a slightly shaky voice.

There had to be some form of a plan, even if it wasn't good—there was always room for improvement.

"What?" Harry asked. He looked as if I was mad to ever think there was a plan to begin with. It was like I had asked if it snowed in the summer.

My brows furrowed completely.

Did they really not have a plan?

"You mean there's nothing?" I asked, looking around the room for anyone to give me an answer.
