{A person's fate or destiny}

"Ames. Get. Up." Jasmine groaned as she tried to get me out of bed for the tenth time.

"Fuck. Off." I mocked her tone as I turned and buried my head deep into my pillow, trying to forget and drown out any feelings about the first day of classes.

"Jesus, what's got her in a mood? She didn't even drink." I heard Blaise's voice from the door.

"Get the fuck out Zabini." I threw a pillow at him, not caring whether I hit him or not, I just needed him out of our dorm.

No sooner than two seconds later, the pillow came crashing down on the back of my head. I huffed as I turned around to see a rather pleased Blaise, but a rather bruised Luis. His eye was a deep purple, nearly black due to the dim light, and his lip had a cut, a deep cut which looked to be still bleeding.

"Merlin Luis, what the fuck happened?" I asked as I angrily stood from my bed and grabbed his wrist while guiding him to the bathroom.

I sat him on the edge of the counter before running a washcloth under the running water. Anyone who hurt Luis was dead in my books, anyone who dared to hurt any one of my friends was basically asking for death. After ringing out the soaked cloth, I brushed it gently over the bulging cut that had burst his lip wide open. He flinched and hissed through his teeth at the contact between the wound and cloth.

"Are you going to tell me, or do I have to hunt them down myself?" I asked, unamused at the fact he didn't answer me the first time.

"You'll be able to figure it out, I trust you in that aspect." He smirked, though winced at the pain it inflicted.

I scoffed at his comment, not wanting to tell me, not wanting me to find out. But he knew that I would figure out who it was anyway. There was no doubt about the lengths I would go to for any one of my friends, particularly the ones that have stuck with me since birth. Luis and I bonded almost instantly, from the moment that our parents brought us together at one of the many Balls they hosted. We bonded over being stupid mostly, that's how I met Malfoy, Luis and him were good friends before that Ball, somehow I could still remember it as if it happened yesterday.

How cliché, I know.

"Ames, can you hurry up and get ready, I'm pretty sure Luis can take care of himself," Blaire said in a huff from her bed.

"Will you calm the fuck down, Merlin sake. What's the time?" I asked, slightly annoyed, though curious to see how late I was making them all.

"It's literally 8 o'clock Ames, hurry up, I'm hungry," Blaise whined.

"Breakfast ends in half an hour, stop your whining. Just go and I'll come down when I'm ready." I yelled back into the dorm.

After hearing the three huff and shut the door behind them, I turned to face Luis once again, placing the final touches on cleaning his bloodied and bruised face. He looked directly into my eyes as I ran my thumb over his bottom lip, his dark and sparkling hues lurked into mine. Luis and I were no stranger to the occasional kiss, or the occasional hookup, having such a close friendship, such a close bond, allowed it to not be awkward. We could laugh about it, talk about it, we were so open with each other, no matter what time of day.

I smirked as I noticed his eyes dart from mine and down to my slightly parted lips.

"Now, now, Mr Dupont," I smiled with my best French accent, "The others will be waiting."

He smirked and pulled me in between his legs as he sat on the counter, his hands gripped my waist tightly in doing so, "So let them wait." He whispered seductively in my ear.
