Law put you on his lap, mindlessly rubbing your back as he sipped from his cup of coffee, his eyes shifting to the redhead groaning and cursing on the ground. Your purring vibrated through his fingers and you leaned into his touch whenever his fingers would find that nice spot just under your cheek or the back of your head. "You're lucky she likes you so much, or I'd killed you already." Kid grumbled as he sat up, his hand rubbing his head harshly before his gaze trailed towards your body. "And what the fuck are you still doing here? In my house? Can't you just leave?" The redhead grunted as he got up from the floor, his knees popping in protest. Law hummed, before he glared lazily at the other man, now standing taller than him.

"I don't trust you to keep her alive and you won't let me take her, so here I am."

"And why don't you think I'd kill you now you're here? Taking out the competition, huh?"

Law's glare turned harsher and you looked up a bit, gaze switching between the two of them. Worry filled your mind, your body turning inward as you made yourself as small as possible in the form of a Norwegian forest cat. The both them bickered back and forth, Kid's fist raising to hit the other one from time to time before he held back again and again. Law's smirk grew wider and wider as he irked the younger male further without lifting a finger. In the end you slipped away silently, fleeing them as you were scared to fall victim to their fights. As a human you could endure more, but as a cat, you could easily get squashed and get seriously hurt. At least, that's what you told yourself. Deep inside, you knew there was another reason for your retreat. You felt unseen and uncared for once more by the people around you. This wasn't because Law cared for you immensely, this was to stick it to Kid. You wanted to believe differently, but this wasn't the Law you knew. Kid didn't really change per se, however, he was still loud and still picking fights. He was just now big enough and had hands to come through with his threads.

As you were wandering through the corridors, looking here and there for something to do, you realised there wasn't anything in particular you could do. You have no hands to pick up a book or brew a drink. No fingers to knead the dough when you felt like baking your own bread. No thumb to flip a page... You felt a bit lost and your stride lost its energy, falling behind by the second until you came to a stop completely and sat down in front of a door where the scent of metal and oil wafted from. It brought a little comfort, the scent of benzine somewhat comforting whenever you had to fuel your car anyway. Soft pitter patter appeared from behind you, the nails ticking the wooden floorboards and the panting of Bepo growing louder and louder. He came to a stop behind you, his breath fanning your fur. He didn't lick you immediately as before and you looked back up at him, a little curious, but still sad about this whole situation. Sure, you had received what you had bargained for, but you were still remorseful for being a cat. The dog's eyes were trained on you, his tongue lolled past his lips. The front of his body laid on the ground, his butt still raised in the air. A playful stance. "Hey, Bepo." You muttered softly, moving to rub the side of your body against his cheek before turning and doing it once more. The dog blinked before bumping his nose against your side, nudging you a bit too harshly as you were flung away a few feet. You were a bit dazed and the dog realised his mistake, whining softly before nearing you once more, more carefully now.

Other hands plucked you from the ground and held you in their arms, blond strands coming into view as you held on as tightly as possible without your nails accidently scratching up skin. "The dog still doesn't know the word 'restrain'." The person grumbled, the words vibrating from his chest. You looked up at the man, blond bangs slightly hiding his face, yet you knew his blue eyes piercing through the curtain of hair. You pawed his arm, caressing it carefully.

"I'm sorry." Killer hummed, his attention back to the door you had sat in front of before and he opened it, revealing a workspace of sorts. Different materials were scattered here and there. "Even if Kid and Law were finally turned back, now you still have to care for me." Your ears flattened against the base of your head, lips twisted in a small pout.

"It's fine. At least now the work can start once more. I prefer Kid as a human more than a housecat, however more destruction his actions bring forth once again." Killer grumbled putting you on top of the counter carefully. "Besides, I don't mind you being here. You're not that bad company."

You perked up a bit at that, looking at him in wonder before walking around on the counter, looking at what Killer was doing. "Really? I though you loathed me being in the same building before."

Killer's hands stilled as he turned his face towards you, his arms crossing over his well-build chest, expecting more. His finger tapped on his bicep before he sighed. "I didn't loathe you or dislike your presence. We didn't know you.. yet. You could be a threat somehow, even with your small stature."

You glared at the huge man, raising your hackles at him as you swatted at his arm. "Rude. I'm not that small." Huffing, you looked away before letting your eyes wander back to him. "I'm not really a threat... I'm just little old me, nothing in particular to make me stand out, remember?" Killer's scarred finger rubbed your head, curling the digit under your chin to make you to look up.

"We didn't know. You still had our boss suddenly in your possession and didn't know what danger you would be in when that was revealed. He might be an idiot, but he is our idiot. Not your pet. I can imagine Law's crew would've felt the same." You hummed softly, watching Killer's expression and the darker speckles of blue in his irises. In the end you nodded shortly and Killer petted your head shortly. "Good girl. If you could turn back human, you should come back some times. Kid likes you around." You blushed a bit, turning away before you realised it could still be as a friend and scolded yourself for thinking too much of it.

Your ears flicked form time to time as you watched Killer work on something, tilting your head left and right as you tried to make something of it. His voice filled the room as he explained what he was doing, but you couldn't really wrap your mind around it, deciding to simply sit here and listen to his soothing voice instead. When he realised you weren't really paying attention to his handywork, he switched the subject to hobbies or interests instead. You ears perked up at that once more, willing to participate in this kind of things much more. When it was your turn, you rambled on and on about pathologic diseases of a few animals, describing how it affected certain organs and what you would see when you'd open up the animal and took a look inside. Killer seemed interested, throwing questions your way from time to time or simply humming as an indication that he was indeed listening instead of tuning you out like some of your friends would do. When friends would do that at first, you felt hurt as you didn't feel appreciated or cared for, so you enjoyed this change of pace. The man seemed genuinely interested after all.

After a while, you felt drowsiness wash over your smaller body, realising that most cats would sleep during the day and wake at night time. The door opened and heavy footsteps closed in on the both of you, Kid huffing as he leaned against the counter nearby you. His painted lips were turned to a smirk, his piercing eyes watching you before they trailed over to his friend. The both of them conversed a bit, their voices lulling you to sleep slowly as you head started to nod, drowsiness coming in waves even stronger now. Kid's hands reached out to your body, holding you against his chest as you rested your head against his shoulder, nuzzling and brushing your nose against the indent of his neck at the jugular vein. Kid's actions stilled and you felt his body heat rise as you started to doze off, the hushed words decreased in volume.
