A Nice Meet Up

Later that day, while Ladybug and Cat Noire were swinging through Paris and keeping an eye on things while looking out for akumas (And a bit of shedding some tears for Master Fu). In an apartment building, a few friends were making their own plan.

Inside Nino's room. Nino's POV

DUUUDEEE! Today was awesome. First Ladybug and Cat Noire save us again, then we all have the best ice cream in all of Paris and finally my dude Adrien gets the girl... But then my other best friend Marinette gets her heart crushed.

Right now, I'm in my room in my family's apartment building and my folks and brother are out. So I thought it was the perfect time to invite the rest of my dudes from my class, Kim, Ivan, Nathaniel, Max and his robot bud Markov, Marc and me. We've got the meeting billeting board with what we were discussing but then we hit a dead end and we were a bit quiet. I think it's time to restart.

I cleared my throat before looking at my friends. "OK Let's review what we have. I'll start with what I know. Now at the end of the first day of school, after Ladybug and Cat Noire saved Ivan, Marinette fell in love with our dude Adrien. She did a lot of stuff that proved it. First, she memorized his daily schedule in detail, then, according to Alya, she was the one who made the blue scarf for his birthday but chose not to tell him when she saw how happy he was once again proving the point we all agree on: Marinette is a living angel. Then she wrote him a love letter but forgot to sign it. Today, we also see how she's an angel when she moved on from Adrien when she saw how happy he and Kagami were together." I said.

Kim still looked a bit shocked. "I still can't believe this. I - I mean didn't Adrien see how sad Marinette was." he said. But Max interrupted him "Kim, remember, Adrien had been allowed to go to school after being at home his whole life. The probability of him wanting to hurt Marinette, also known as the sweetest girl in all of Paris is 0.0%. The probability of him knowing Marinette's true feelings for him is also 0.0%." he said. Marc then cleared his throat softly before speaking. "Max is right. Marinette is my friend... The first friend I've ever had actually. In fact, we all know that she's friends with all of us. She would never tell anybody something if that meant ruining their happiness. I know it. We all know it." he said.

I nodded my head right away. "Both of you two are spot on! Marinette would never hurt anyone unless she was evil and Adrien doesn't even know that Marinette has feelings for him. Of course, I suppose now it's <Marinette had feelings for him> since she moved on to Luka." I paused before looking down. "I think it's safe to say that even if she's heartbroken, she's happy... But I mean, we should check on her... Just to make sure she's OK. Right?" I asked slowly even though I knew they'd all agree with me.

Nathaniel then said something. "We all owe Marinette that. Even though we can all agree that there still is and always will be a chance she would snap at Chloé, she's always had our backs." he said. Ivan then spoke up too. "She's the one who told me to write Mylène her song so, without her, Mylène and I wouldn't be together, but we all owe her a lot for being such an amazing friend and checking on her is a good start." he said.

Pretty soon, we were already heading for the bakery. I just hope she's OK. I know my dude, Adrien. He would never hurt somebody on purpose and if he knew he hurt Marinette he'd apologize to her. Adrien's that type of dude, understanding, funny, friendly and forgiving. So even if my man never knew Marinette's feelings for him, he'd still try to help her.

Once we got there, we saw Marinette's parents selling some bread, but when they saw us, they stopped for a minute. "Ah, good afternoon boys." said Mr.Dupain Cheng before Mrs. Dupain Cheng continued. "Marinette should be in her room, anything I can get all of you?" she asked. As usual, Kim's eyes lit up like rockets in the sky, but I elbowed him in the ribs before he could answer. "No ma'am we're good" I said with a smile. Then we went up to Marientee's room.

When we got there, we all sort of broke into her room, but that's never gonna be the point. The real POINT is that Marinette was, well... She's GONE.

"Huh, she's not here!" Kim said, well exclaimed in a freaking out type of voice. I was pretty much worried, but then I took a deep breath before talking again. "OK, so obviously, her parents had no idea she was gone, so I say let's just stay here. She has to come back right." They all nodded and we all sat down. Max on the chair, Ivan and me on the floor, while Kim, Nathaniel and Marc were on her lounge chaise.

Outside in Paris, 3rd POV

Marinette was exhausted. She and Cat Noire had taken the time to talk things through about the loss of Master Fu. Well, they didn't lose him, he just lost his memories of them. So in a way, they did lose Master Fu. they lost the one that they did have, but another was born anew. Even if they didn't have his guidance now, they both knew that as long as Master Fu was OK and living the life he deserved, both the heroes knew that they'd be OK.

She reached her roof and transformed, but when she opened the hatch, she yelped in surprise to see Kim, Nino, Marc, Nathaniel, Ivan and Max waiting for her. Being the klutz she is, of source she jumped and fell on her face. "Guys? What are you doing here?" she asked them gently. But they didn't answer, instead, they all got up and embraced her. Shocked she slowly got up. The others were showing quite serious expressions which were, in reality, frightening her. She just could believe this, I mean, c'mon, she's battled evil every day and yet not seeing her friend's happy expressions made her scared. She could feel Tikki shaking slightly in her purse, frightened of the small chance that her friends had discovered her secret double life.

Nino seemed to see her tensed form so he was quick to reassure her. "Well, we just wanted to check up on you". he said. Marc was quick to add more. "Yeah, I mean you seemed kinda sad when you left." he said while squeezing her shoulder. Marinette was touched by her friend's kindness but right now she really felt like being alone.

She slowly cleared her throat. "Look guys, I- I appreciate you guys doing this for me, but honestly, I'm kinda tired, so I'll see you all at school tomorrow?" she asked hopefully. Hoping that they would leave her.

Gratefully for whatever good luck that chose to stay for her as Marinette they all nodded. "Sure, have a good night." Kim said softly before, one by one, they all left her alone. As soon as they left, Marinette locked the latch, but not without yelling a good night to her parents.

After that she changed to her nightwear while Tikki was sitting on the pillow. "Marinette it was nice of your friends to check on you." Tikki said sleepily. Marinette chuckled at the tiny yawn that left the kwami's mouth. "Yeah Tikki it was nice, but right now, today... It's just been so exhausting that I think I just need some sleep." she said. And it was true. It had been an exhausting day and she still had that major History test tomorrow. Good thing she studied during her patrol with Cat Noire.

She slowly got into the bed before kissing Tikki's cheek. "Good night Tikki" she said just as she dozed off. Tikki quickly replied. "Sweet Dreams Marinette." she said before resting her head on the full-body cat pillow.

With that, both of them fell asleep with the same hope that tomorrow things would be looking up.
