I Need Backup!

3rd POV. 4 weeks later.

It has been 4 weeks since Marinette's secret was discovered and things had been so much easier for her. True to their words, the boys had been there for her. They would each spend time with her and be at her house after any akumas to make sure they could celebrate. They had met all the kwamis in the box and they had helped Marinette crack any mysteries of the spellbook.

The real spellbook. Pages and all. Hawk Moth, who had fused the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous to become Shadow Month, had created a sentimonter to spy on Marinette and discover Ladybug's identity.

Luckily, Ladybug had Cat Noire use his Cataclysm to get the sentimonster out. Hence finally getting the spellbook back and somehow, destroying any digital or real copy of the book in the world. 

One of the many great powers Marinette has received as Ladybug is a new suit and the ability to make magical charms to protect akumatized victims from the risk of Shadow month akumatizing them again.

But that didn't mean that things still weren't difficult. Shadow Month was still at large and continued to make dangerous sentimonsters and supervillains, keeping Ladybug and Cat Noire on their toes. After all, they still had to get the Butterfly and Peacock Miraculous back.

But that didn't mean things weren't easier for Marinette. For starters a week after she became the guardian, she and Luka broke up since she kept lying to him about being somewhere as Ladybug. Luka had been akumatized by Shadow Month to become the villain truth, with a sentimonster that was able to make anyone answer a question in all honesty. Allowing him to learn that his father is actually Jagged Stone. The rock star!

Marinette and Cat Noire were able to save Luka. And Luka and Marinette ended their relationship on good terms. They're still friends and it's obvious that Luka still is in love with Marinette. yet he's willing to give up to make her happy.

But the same can't be said for Marinette, Alya, Mylène, Rose, Alix and Juleka. Marinette's friends had seen how sad Marinette was and had seen her crying. But the biggest thing was that Marinette never told them that she and Luka broke up and she was keeping many secrets from everyone in order to keep her identity, well a secret.

But they had arrived at her house, nearly saw her as Ladybug and had nearly discovered the Miracle Box. Maybe if Marinette hadn't been so distressed things could have cleared up, but instead, she lashed at her friends and ended their friendship, leaving them all heartbroken.

Marinette's friends had been akumatized into a group of villains: The Gang of Secret. But of course, Ladybug and Cat Noire were able to save them. Thanks to Alya breaking off Shadow moth's influence and her powers as Rena Rouge. While also proving that Alya's faith in Marinette would never waver.

But Marinette still didn't talk to her friends after that. She then saw that if she kept lying things would still be hard and the people she cared about would still be at risk. 

She made a choice that broke her heart into pieces, yet that would ensure the safety of hurting her friends.

That choice was that they couldn't be friends anymore.

Marinette still remembered the apology letter she wrote for them. She even had her rough draft of it on her pink stationery.
