We had landed shortly after finishing the most awkward brunch I had ever had. Aurora had two of the guys zip tie my hands behind my back only seconds after I declined her offer and damn did they do them tight. One of the guys gripped my wrist and shoulder as he guided me off the plane. I stepped down, the sun shining down from above and feeling nice against my skin.
"Better enjoy that feeling because it's the last time you'll ever see the light of day again." Sam chuckled as she walked past me
I glared at her as I was led across the runway to a black car parked off to the side with three others in a line in front of it. The man roughly shoved me inside causing me to land on my back across the seat before he slammed the door shut without a word.
"Asshole." I grumbled as I tried to push myself up
As I looked up I saw the driver and instantly felt my blood run cold, goosebumps forming instantly as I looked at a ghost. Even with the big sunglasses I would've recognized her anywhere. I was frozen as she turned and put a finger over her perfect lips signaling for me not to make a noise. She turned back to the windshield, my eyes never leaving her for even a second as everyone got into the different cars. The man, Dave, who I thought was a guard walked over to ours and opened the passenger seat before climbing in and shutting the door.
He looked over at Parker and gave her a strange look "Parker?"
She instantly pulled a gun on him putting the barrel straight to his forehead, a silencer on the end and her finger in the trigger.
"Traitor." She whispered before pulling the trigger and a distorted bshp sound echoed through the vehicle
Blood splattered through the car, my face now covered as I looked back at her. She pushed up her sun glasses, her warm hickory eyes capturing me as a silence settled over us. Yelling outside the car caused both of us to turn our attention to the front windshield where a man was pointing a gun at us. Without hesitation Parker shifted the car putting us in reverse before slamming on the gas and sending her glasses back to the brink of her nose. The sudden movement forced me to roll onto the floor and the familiar sensation of pain coursed through me as I let out a groan.
"Sorry." Parker muttered out
Gun shots were ringing out and I was pretty much stuck being unable to see on the literal floor of the car for as long as my hands remained zip tied. Parker took a sharp turn, the gravity in the car seemingly dissipating as we did a full 180. Parker quickly shifted the car and then we jolted forward sending me flying back.
"How did you find me?" I questioned, half yelling from the ground
She sighed as the engine revved "It's a long story that we do not have time for right now."
"Where the hell have you been?" I asked
"Looking for you." She stated just loud enough for me to hear
I let out a deep breathe "Well Sam's been looking for you too and now she knows exactly where you are."
"I don't care, I just needed to save you." She stated in a stern tone
I sighed "Parker I get it but you're literally risking your life right now."
"It's too late to change it." She replied and I swear I could visualize her shrugging like it wasn't a big deal "Hold tight, it about to get a little bumpy."
Please god no.
She took one sharp turn after another, the car jolting every so often from uneven terrain I couldn't see.
"Can you please tell me what's happening?" I yelled out
"There's two cars still on us and I'm about to pull onto the main road." She replied before taking a sharp left that sent me flying to the side and hitting my head on the door
"Ow that hurt!" I whined
She mumbled back "Sorry I can't escape and drive safe."
I groaned as I rolled onto my back and then shifted my feet to shimmy myself up against the door of the car. Slowly I pushed myself up with my feet and then finally got myself up and onto the seat.
Parker glanced back at me in the rear view mirror "Did you get sick of the floor?"
I glared back at her and she turned her attention back to the road that was flying by us. I turned around and spotted two matching cars following us, all three of us weaving in and out of traffic.
"Why didn't you send security to get me?" I questioned looking up at her
She maintained her focus on the road "Compromised."
"All of them?" I countered
She let out an irritated sigh "Pretty much yes, and honestly, I didn't really trust anyone to get you after what happened. I'm not even supposed to be here because according to the government, it's an emotionally impulsive decision."
"Can't say I disagree, but what's the plan then double O seven?" I joked
She threw off the glasses and glared back at me "How can you joke at a time like this?"
"Please look at the road!" I yelled causing her to turn just in time to dodge side swiping a Camry
She let out a breathe of relieve "God you drive me crazy!"
"Let's fight later, I'm serious, what's the plan?" I asked once more as I looked over and saw Dave slouched over in the passenger side
Suddenly I could see flashing lights behind us and I gulped.
"I've got it all worked out with a friend of mine." Parker replied
"I thought we couldn't trust anyone?" I countered
She shrugged "We can trust them."
"Okay so let me repeat, what is the plan?" I yelled out
"Hold on!" She yelled
We took a sharp right into a parking garage and drifted in, the memory of leaving West towers coming to mind.
"Holy fucking shit!" I yelled out as I saw that the floor was lifting up ahead of us
We continued straight for it, the ground seemingly opened up as we sped right in. We were in the air for a second before landing down on the pavement of a tunnel that sent us both jolting forward. My face hit off the seat in front of me, and then sent me flying back, my head hitting the window as everything went blank.
