CW: mentions of blood/wounds and being very sick (not graphic) also pills (just painkillers dw)

Diluc had managed to find an old feather duster with help from Adelinde, and thankfully, she had taken care of the spider for him, releasing it outside. After taking care of those two issues, the rest was easy, just time consuming. So far, he had dusted off his desk, swept the floor, and rearranged the book case. He was currently focused on going through his desk drawers and making sure nothing too important was kept in there.

Old documents, a few notes from people he couldn't remember solely by their signatures, and finally, an old birthday letter from Kaeya. He'd immediately put it back in the bottom of the drawer...that was something he wasn't quite ready to reread, it was merely another reminder of how badly he'd messed up all those years ago and just how much his brother deserved an apology. Sure, Kaeya had picked awful timing, but for Barbatos's sake, Diluc had nearly killed him, and then practically disowned him. He'd certainly like to think he'd worked on his anger issues since then.

Diluc shook his head, reminding himself that he would apologize to Kaeya when he woke up. He would apologize, and he would try his best to make it up to him.

There's no erasing what leaves permanent marks.

He tugged his hair anxiously, just hard enough to hurt but not so hard he'd pull it out. There..there had to be some way to fix his mistakes. Perhaps apologizing was only a start, but that was okay. (Baby steps, Adelinde had once told him, there's a way to repair everything with time.)
Diluc sighed, straightening his back and picking up the feather duster off his desk, instead replacing it with the stack of papers he had in hand. He left the room to return the feather duster to its place in the closet downstairs. Despite his height, he had to stand on his tiptoes just to set it back on the top shelf, closing the door before turning around to head back.

Then, out of nowhere, Adelinde rushed past him. He blinked in surprise, she'd looked rather panicked.

"Is everything okay?" He asked, quickly following her into the kitchen.

"Master Kaeya's woke up," Adelinde said in a frantic tone, not bothering to turn around as she checked the cabinets, "he's certainly in...a lot of pain, although denying it. Would you happen to know where the painkillers are?" she asked, finally looking over her shoulder at him.

"I believe they're in the upstairs bathroom, the one next to my old office." he replied, "I'll..stay with him while you look. Knowing him, he's probably going to try and get up, and I don't want him irritating his wounds more." He waited for Adelinde to nod, before heading into Kaeya's room.

Kaeya was curled up on the bed, facing the door. He had one arm wrapped tightly around himself and the other covering the bottom half of his face, Diluc couldn't tell if he was hyperventilating because he was scared or because he was unable to breathe correctly. His pupils had shrunk and his expression was pained, his eyes had immediately darted to the doorway when Diluc entered the room.

"D–" He cut himself off with harsh coughs, the kind you only got when something was blocking your airways or you were very, very sick. Diluc stood there as Kaeya wheezed in his attempts to breathe, just blinking and staring for a moment before he realized what was going on. He was choking. Diluc cursed to himself before rushing over, hurrying to help sit Kaeya up so he could, hopefully, breathe easier. He'd let out a choked sob upon being moved, he could certainly tell what Adelinde meant when she'd said he was definitely in pain. His face was twisted into a near grimace as he continued to cough, taking in wheezing breaths as tears pricked his eyes. Diluc simply stood there with a hand on his back, concerned, but assuming he would be alright once he'd gotten it out.
