Albedo had arrived just that night, carrying with them many items Diluc could not identify. He greeted them briefly before guiding them to his old office, now cleaned out to look near brand new

Albedo took a look around the room, humming quietly to themselves before setting their things on the desk.

"Depending on how hard it is to identify...I may need to go back for a second trip soon." They informed him, and Diluc nodded, although still standing in the doorway.

"I'm...not sure if Kaeya is awake right now," he started, "but..." he paused, and Albedo looked over their shoulder.

"The sooner I can get started the better. Poison or not, the longer we give it time to act..the worse it'll be for him."  They stated for him, and he nodded solemnly .

"I'll...wake him up, if he's sleeping." He turned around slowly, waiting for Albedo to follow, "If he's...acting...different, I apologize. Despite the painkillers, he seems to be in a lot of pain, and I'm not quite sure if he's..delirious..or not." Diluc said, his tone as flat as he could make it. He wasn't about to get emotional in front of someone who was practically a stranger to him, even with Kaeya's severe injuries. Instead, he led Albedo down the corridor to Kaeya's old room, pushing the door open gently.

"Kaeya?" He called, hoping his tone wasn't too harsh.

After a few seconds of waiting with no reply, the two of them walked inside.

Despite Diluc's original assumption, Kaeya was, in fact, awake. Albeit his eyes were half-lidded and fixated on the ceiling, but he was still awake.

"Kaeya?" Diluc asked again, this time just beside his bed. Kaeya blinked slowly, shifting his eyes to meet Diluc's, then to look at Albedo. He gave a tired smirk at the two.

"Albedo.." he said, voice weak and raspy. Diluc had to refrain from wincing at him. Albedo simply nodded in response.

"Yes, I'm....sure you were informed I was coming?" they asked, and Kaeya smiled a little wider.

"Even..if I wasn't," he paused, "still be happy to see you." Kaeya grinned, Diluc just stood there awkwardly. Albedo smiled softly, humming quietly.

"Although I also enjoy your company, I wish it were under better circumstances.." they sighed, "do you think you're able to sit up?"

Kaeya's smile faltered slightly, and he made an attempt to sit back up, Diluc grimaced as he winced and fell back down.

"That's...an awful idea, your wounds aren't even relatively healed..however, Albedo did tell me they would need to have a look, to help identify what exactly infected it." he pursed his lips, eyes staring just behind Kaeya, rather than at him.  "Albedo...would you mind helping him sit up while I go get the bandages? Adelinde did ask for me to change them out." he waited for them to nod before leaving the room.

When Diluc returned, Kaeya was being set upright against the headboard, his signature smile still plastered in place despite tears being in his eyes. Diluc cleared his throat as a means of announcing his presence. Albedo looked over, while Kaeya just winced at the noise.

"Is he alright?" Diluc walked over, setting the roll of bandages down on the nightstand. Kaeya finally turned to him with what he assumed was supposed to be an annoyed look, but to Diluc it looked more like a pained grimace.

"Do I not–" Kaeya wheezed mid sentence, it appeared to shake his entire body, "..look alright to you?" he smirked, and Diluc just blinked at him in near disbelief for a moment before shaking his head and sighing.
