Once we set foot in the building, we were swarmed by everyone. Completely surrounded from every angle, I backed up into Jimin and he wrapped his arms around me. He then pulled me towards him and we started walking. The crowd immediately parted like the red sea. We barraged with questions, as if my coworkers were the paparazzi.
"Song Jing-Mi?! How is she with Park Jimin?!"
"What is going on?"
"Are they dating?!"
"Awww there goes my chances!"
"When did they become a thing?"
"Now, now, nothing to see here. Just go about your business as usual." Jimin said his cheeks started to redden. Once we were away from the crowd, we were able to make our way to the elevator. Jimin slid his ID card in front of the scanner and the elevator doors opened. We stepped inside and Jimin quickly hit the button to close the doors. As the doors slowly closed, all of their eyes remained locked on us, wide with curiosity. Once the doors finally closed, we both breathed a sigh of relief. I leaned with my back against the side of the elevator as Jimin ran his fingers through his hair.
"Are you always this popular when you come in?" I teased. Jimin chuckled softly as he glanced over at me.
"Typically, yes. It's mostly because I'm the CEO's son." Jimin replied.
"I don't think that's the only reason you're popular, you modern-day Adonis." I muttered quietly to myself as I rolled my eyes.
"What was that?" Jimin asked, raising his eyebrows.
"Nothing," I replied awkwardly, stifling an awkward grin. Jimin then walked over towards me. I leaned further into the side of the elevator, as if I could really get further away from him. Once he stood in next to me, his lips touched my earlobe again. I felt that same jolt of electricity course through me and goosebumps rose back up on my skin.
"You like what you see, Song Jing-Mi?" Jimin teased as he tucked some of my stray hairs behind my ear. I started breathing heavily as I felt his breath tickle the exposed skin of my neck. I immediately grabbed my grandma's necklace and held it tight. I needed to hold on to something, and Jimin sure wasn't one of them. "Tell me...have you ever--"
Before Jimin could even finish saying what he was going to say, the elevator doors opened and he jumped away from me. As I glanced at him, I noticed his face was bright red. I smirked in satisfaction as I stepped out of the elevator.
So I'm not the only one who's flustered, oh sweet justice. I thought to myself. I gleefully started to head down the hallway towards the department I worked in, then all of a sudden, I felt Jimin firmly place his hand on my shoulder.
"Let me walk you to your department." Jimin said firmly. I slowly turned around and eyed Jimin down.
"Why? So you can make more of a spectacle of yourself and draw more attention to the two of us?" I joked.
"Look, I said I'll vouch for you, remember? What exactly are you going to do if you walk into your department alone? What excuse are you going to come up with on the fly? If I walk in with you, it'll at least save your ass. Just let me talk to my father." Jimin said sternly.
I rolled my eyes at him and jerked my shoulder away from his grip. I then continued walking towards my department, until I arrived at the door. I could feel Jimin standing right behind me. I shook my head and jiggled the handle and slowly opened the door. When I walked in, everyone stood up and bowed in respect. Then I remembered Jimin was right behind me. I walked over to my desk as everyone's eyes stayed focused on me and Jimin who was right behind me. Everyone then sat down and went about their daily work tasks. I slowly sat down at my desk and leaned over towards my coworker, Kim Jee-Lee.
